Author's Note: OK, I'm a little spoiled. This was my third visit to Palau in five years. I had wanted to visit Peleliu on my first two trips, but my schedule had never allowed me -- until last month. And it changed my life.

As you are flying over Palau you will immediately see why they are called the Rock Islands. Beautiful mushroom shaped islands (dozens of them clustered together) - each covered in trees. Crystal clear water and extremely friendly locals.
