Pros: Arizona Memorial is very moving tribute; lots to see at Bowfin and Missouri. Cons: Crowds, wait.
A visit to Oahu is not complete without a visit to Pearl Harbor. And like hoards of other visitors who make the trek to here, so did we, on our recent Spring Break trip to Hawaii. Despite the crowds, the heat, and the inevitable long wait, our day in the ...

Pros: beautiful scenery, historic, powerful tribute to those who died Cons: makes you think about death
The year was 1994. I had recently moved to New Mexico and was living a block or so caddy-corner from my best friend. A nice strip mall sprawled across the block we both bordered with a Little Caesar's inside. Normally, we would order takeout then go pick...

Pros: It's like walking into the history books. Incredibly moving experience. Cons: Very crowded, some people were disrespectful in their behavior
I approached Pearl Harbor with a deep respect, knowing so many people died there in the infamous December 7 attack. Most people were somber as they approached, feeling the gravity of what had happened at Pearl Harbor so many years before.

Pros: The reminder of those who fought and died for our freedom Cons: That it even happened at all
I have been to Pearl Harbor 4 times now and each time it is a sobering reminder of our nations past. The first time I visited there it was all new of course, but each time I have been there I've learned something new as well as having a fresh renewal of...

Review Topic: Sights & Attractions
I visited the USS Bowfin Submarine museum last week on a day trip to Oahu and was surprised at the profound effect it had on me. I am not a "history person", I whine when my...

Pros: Beauty, reference, respect, historic... Cons: None...
Blue, that is the first thing that struck me about Pearl Harbor, its waters and covering sky are incredibly blue. And serene; the waters of the harbor gently roll up upon the shores touching it like a sweet caress, and the wind cool and inviting is but...

Pros: A moving and educational experience - a MUST see for Oahu, free Cons: crowded
My husband and I visited Pearl Harbor on our honeymoon, during our stay in Oahu. I am so glad that we did. This was truly a moving tribute to those who lost their lives during the horrible attack. I noticed that most of the reviews are from some time...

Pros: fascinating, unique, part of history, get to tour the sub Cons: none at all
The Arizona Memorial and 'Mighty Mo' are not all there is too see at Pearl Harbor. There is also an amazing decommissioned submarine with an impressive World War II history for full exploration at a low price. The submarine is directly behind the...

Pros: A well planned national treasure. Cons: The Arizona memorial can be very crowded.
My husband and I recently went to Hawaii for our postponed honeymoon. We flew to Honolulu from New York with the sole purpose of going to Pearl Harbor. The morning after we arrived, we were up bright & early at at around 5:30am. We had a quick...

Pros: Very moving experience. Very Informative and a must see in Oahu. Cons: Lines can be long, but that's the only one.
On my recent trip to Waikiki Beach in Oahu I really had no intentions of doing anything that didn't involve surf, sand or cocktails by the pool. However I was less than happy with my first experience in Oahu (that's another review in itself) and we ...

Pros: Seeing exactly where history took place Cons: Popularity of the attraction makes for long lines
This is truly a sacred place that will give you goose bumps. I've visited Civil War and Revolutionary War battlefields all over the United States and I've never felt anything like what I experienced at the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial. I experienced rage...

Pros: A wonderful experience that everyone should have at least once in their life. Cons: A little crowded but so worth it.
In 2005 my husband and I decided to take a trip for our 2nd wedding anniversary. I knew that I wanted to go to Hawaii, but had no clue which island I would like to visit. After doing extensive research on all of them Oahu was the chosen one. One ...

Pros: Wonderful tribute to those who died for our country Cons: Somber and grim reminder of that tragic day.
I have visited Pearl Harbor many times. Being from a military family ( My husband is in the Army and I was also at the time) it seemed wonderful to be able to live so close to the memorial. We lived across the street from Pearl Harbor, at Hickam Air...

Pros: serenity Cons: none
Any person, whether living in Hawaii or visiting, must visit the Arizona Memorial. The Arizona Memorial can be found right off Hwy 99 (Kamehameha Hwy). It is right outside the Pearl Harbor Naval Base. You can take a hotel shuttle, bus, or your own...

Pros: Free, easily accessible, stirring experience that every American should experience at least once Cons: None
Having just read dbhoutx's excellent review of Pearl Harbor, I have to agree. We found the mood at the memorial to be respectfully solemn, but somehow uplifting.
Admission is free. The best time to arrive for minimum crowds is first thing in...
