Pros: Nice, inexpensive family activities, a lot of opportunities to experience nature Cons: It isn't as exciting as a big city
Lafayette is located in the eastern central portion of Indiana. It is about a two hour drive to Chicago, and a convenient hour from Indianapolis. A good portion of my childhood weekends were spent in Lafayette hotels, since my father had a construction ...

Pros: Small Town Atmosphere, with plenty to do. Cons: It's a two-hour drive from the Chicago area.
I took my family on a short road trip to Lafayette, Indiana this past weekend. They have a great steakhouse there, called Logan’s Roadhouse, that I first tried while visiting a friend in Detroit. Following an excellent dinner (at a reasonable...

Pros: Wolf Park, Columbian Park Cons: Very homogenous and too similar to other cities of its size
I have lived in Indiana for the past five years and for the past three of those, have lived 45 minutes north of Lafayette. Because of our proximity to Lafayette, we venture down there about two to three times a month. I think that this city makes for a...

Pros: (sound of cricket chirping); And a Good Restaurant. Cons: Anything Here That Can Be Described Using A Noun.
Prologue:
We finally moved away from Lafayette, Indiana in March, 2001. I found a job in Northern Michigan, and when our caravan of a Volvo and a laden 26' U-Haul Monstro-Mover towing our Chevy Lumina on a trailer left the city limits, I almost...

Pros: An outstanding place to live Cons: Not much to do for travelers
Doesn't the title of my review sound backwards? Usually people say about a place, "It's nice to visit, but I wouldn't want to live here." Greater Lafayette, Indiana is the exact opposite for me. I have lived here for nearly six years and...

Pros: Good job market Cons: Everything else
O.K., I am from hickville northern Michigan and I believed there could be no place as devoid of culture as that, but I was wrong. Lafayette, Indiana sits in the middle of MANY huge cornfields. This leads to great site seeing (boy does it).

Pros: babes. college chix are easy. Cons: jocks. they're dense, even in indiana.
I'm not fond of any 'college-town' because I find the atmosphere disgusting and annoying. Lafayette is no exception.
The streets are drawn out in a haphazard way that leaves you confused and restless when trying to find your way from one...

Pros: Historic homes, downtown area, healthy ecosystem, and low crime rate.
Cons: everything else
Oh, God, how I wish I had known before I moved to Lafayette last year! I received a fellowship for my graduate studies at Purdue University, which I should be grateful for, but how I regret having come here.
The people: anti-intellectual,...

Pros: Peaceful, quite college town Cons: Peaceful, quite college town
I spent all of my teenage years in Lafayette, IN, and I can say this much: It's a great place to live, but I wouldn't want to visit there.
Lafayette (and its twin city West Lafayette) are amazing places to raise your children. The schools are...
