Pros: Aquarium, Block, Camden Yards is amazing, Inner Harbor, Lexington Market, Food Cons: Not a lot to do for tourists, Some dangerous "seedy" areas
As someone who lives in the Greater-Worst Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area, often referred to as Washington-Baltimore, I've had plenty of times to visit Charm City. The affectionate nickname of Baltimore or Balmore as I call it, ...

Pros: Great seafood, awesome attractions, beautiful neighborhoods close by, DC only 30 miles away Cons: Crime, beggers, dangerous areas
Baltimore gets a bad rep by many. Known for it's high crime rate and poverty stricken areas, many think the city is on the decline. However, after recently visiting Baltimore, I must say that I loved my time in the city and recommend it to anyone. The ...

Pros: Lots of variety, very easy to get around, civic pride, beautiful harbor Cons: Developing far too quickly
When setting off to visit seven or eight East Coast cities, mr_chelledun and I wouldnt have guessed that Baltimore would be our absolute favorite, or even up there in our favorites. In fact, we absolutely loved it. I found Baltimore to be ...

Pros: great aquarium, lots of different activities in the Inner Harbor, cheap souvenirs Cons: beggars, dirty bay
One of the shorter stops on my family’s recent road trip was Baltimore, Maryland, a city I’ve visited a few times. Come to think of it, none of the places we went were locations I’d never been to before. My major trip to Baltimore was about 10 years ...

Pros: Quirky, unique neighborhoods and down-home atmosphere. Cons: Certain areas are dangerous and should be avoided.
The city's residents are fiercely loyal and proud of Charm City. Situated just below the Mason-Dixon, Baltimore is a funky, one-of-a-kind mix of sweet Southern charm and outspoken Northern liberalism. The city has been very active in restoring historic...

Pros: plenty to do and see Cons: tends to be overshadowed by nearby Washington, DC
While frequently overlooked in favor of its southern neighbor, Washington, DC, Baltimore is a charming city with a lot to do --not only for singles and couples, but families as well.
First, there is the ever-popular Inner Harbor. Here, you can...

Pros: Something to suit most tastes - culture, history, entertainment, sightseeing. Cons: Less than adequate transportation, some crime problems, downtown visitors may find it expensive.
Baltimore City, a.k.a. Charm City, is a place of diversity and history for any traveler. Its roots go back to the earliest times of European settlement, and its most famous moments occurred during the War of 1812, when the Port of Baltimore came under...

Pros: An ecclectic city of unique neighborhoods! The people and culture Cons: Crime rate still high but falling, woefull public schools, mass transit system.
This is my city! Born and raised in Baltimore, I’ve witnessed the ups and down of this venerable city by the bay! This town has a unique blend of the proximity to the Northeast but the provincial traditionalism of the south. The native Baltimore accent...

Pros: IMAX theatre, good temporary exhibits. Cons: Crowded and expensive.
The Science Center has been around since the 1970's and is therefore one of the older components of Baltimore's Inner Harbor. It has three main floors, each stuffed with sizable exhibits, plus an observatory on the fourth floor. Thus the first rule for...

Pros: Best food to be found anywhere, best films, best neighbors Cons: outdoor films + rain = soggy and sad filmgoers
Baltimore's Little Italy is one of the most endearing neighborhoods in the city. Decorated and be-flowered townhouses line the streets, art shops show off their goods, and restaurants entice the hungry of the city. The restaurants of Baltimore's Little...

Pros: Nice little ball park area bars. Cons: The Marriott, the theme restaurants, the Marriott, the crowd down at the harbor.
Ah, Baltimore jewel of the small section of the East Coast that exists from Washington, DC and Philadelphia, PA. My grandfather use to tell me of his exploits in Baltimore just after the war. He use to sit me on his knee and tell me stories from when he...

Pros: Filling, reasonably priced meals. Open extended hours. Cons: Atmosphere might not be everyone's cup of tea.
Two o' clock in the morning and hungry in Baltimore. Where to go, what to do. Two of my favorite late night places are the Double T Diner in Catonsville and Nam Kang in Baltimore city.
The Double T at the intersection of Rolling Road and...

Pros: Lots to see and do within a half-mile radius. Cons: Only two hotels are walking distance the harbor and its attractions.
If you've ever heard of Baltimore, the Inner Harbor is the heart of the city. With a wide selection of attractions, shops, and restaurants, you could easily plan a few day's worth of things-to-do within a half-mile radius.
