Pros: Shopping, Fascinating Ships and People Cons: none
We visited Baltimore while our son was in college there and stayed in a great motel next to the Inner Harbor. We were so fascinated by the ships that were docked. One was a Russian freighter, I believe. They were giving tours, but there was such a long...

Pros: inner harbor, lots of shops and restaurants Cons: big difference in living conditions in different parts of the city
Baltimore has great attractions...it is the home of Johns Hopkins University, it has an Inner Harbor filled with fun shops, restaurants, and paddle boats, there is a great aquarium in the middle of everything, and those southern crab cakes are delicious....

Pros: Lots to see and do within a half-mile radius. Cons: Only two hotels are walking distance the harbor and its attractions.
If you've ever heard of Baltimore, the Inner Harbor is the heart of the city. With a wide selection of attractions, shops, and restaurants, you could easily plan a few day's worth of things-to-do within a half-mile radius.
ATTRACTIONS:

Pros: It can only get better. Cons: That I had to state that it can only get better.
The old, comfortable Baltimore of Barry Levinson and the quirky town depicted by John Waters does not really exist. I know because I live in the real Baltimore (and have for my entire life, in the city). I am sad to report that this city has the...

Pros: excellent food and great atmosphere Cons: possible delay in being seated in evenings
For anyone who enjoys a festive atmosphere as well as excellent food, Bennigan's Bar & Restaurant is the place to go. For those of us who are Irish and for those of us who may just be Irish for a day, getting to Bennigan's should definitely be a...

Pros: Pretty clean, Family Activities Cons: bad traffic, no urge to come back soon, crime
If you live nearby Baltimore and haven't stopped by in a while, it might be a pretty good place to go on a weekend to spend a day at. You can visit the Baltimore Orioles (if you can get a ticket) at the great Camden Yards, visit the Baltimore...

Pros: Variety, scenery Cons: Can get muggy
Baltimore is the perfect summer vacation spot, especially staying at the inner harbor.
This is a great family spot or a place for a school break. Go during the summer, where although it's hot, you have so much to do outside.
First of all, you...

Pros: Great for a weekend Cons: Not enough to keep you busy for more than a few days
I have lived in Baltimore for the last five years, and while I wouldn't call it the greatest United States city, there are certainly some unique things to do perfect for a wekeend trip.
Baltimore is famous for it's crabs. I have to say that I...

Pros: something for everyone Cons: get a map, some areas are hard to navigate
If you're in the area and have a car, explore some of Baltimore County.
Towson: Home of Towson University. This area has something for everyone. In the heart of Towson there is both Barnes & Noble and Borders within walking distance in...

Pros: great food, nice people, cheap! Cons: crime
When I first moved to Baltimore from Boston three years ago to attend grad school, most people warned me about how dangerous a city Baltimore was and how badly I would miss my home town. I can safely say they were wrong. Yes, there's crime in here and if...

Pros: Great Food Plenty of sightseeing experiences Cons: none

Pros: Diverse art and culture Cons: One-way streets
Say, "Baltimore" and most people think of the Orioles, but I skipped Camden Yards and the brand new PSINET Stadium, known as Raven's Stadium to the locals. The Red Sox were playing while I was there in late July but if you don't get tickets...

Pros: Lots of culture and things to do Cons: Boring for people who don't like history or culture
If you love American history, art and Edgar A. Poe, then Baltimore is the place for you. It's an old city with it's cobble stone streets and marble stoops, yet a modern city with it's highly acclaimed universities and Harbor Place Shops...like Camden...

Pros: Charming Cons: Dangerous spots: beware
As a resident of Baltimore, i get offended when out-of-towners come and disparage Charm City. You have to "find" the charm. Unlike NYC, every block is not inundated with high-class shopping opportunities and hot spots (It's not so in NYC,...

Pros: The city is pretty, good food Cons: No nightlife, expensive, bad transportation

Inner Harbor
by mutoka ,Oct 19 '04
Pros: Charleston Cons: Hyatt Regency, Rusty Scupper
We stayed at the Hyatt where the staff was very personable, however, their product for the price was flawed. Beds with just a regular sheet on the bottom so the minute you move you have a bare mattress and a ball of sheet. No salt or pepper on room service breakfast that took an hour to get there. Rooms not cleaned until 4pm.
Dinner at Rusty Scupper: Oysters on half shell appetizer produced one eatable oyster. Greasy crab cakes.
Now to the good--Dinner at Charleston excellent. Great food both tasting menu and a la carte, extensive well researched wine list and very knowledgeable just the right degree of attentiveness wait staff. Great evening.
