My wife just got back from Vegas. We were there five days and stayed at the Flamingo (see my review). (Oct 2005). The Strip was just AMAZING. We enjoyed every bit of it. If you're planning on a trip to Vegas, I would recommend staying in the ...
Pros: Absolutely beautiful, clean, definitely worth the trip Cons: You should bring mega-bucks in order to fully enjoy it all
When a friend invited me to go to Las Vegas with her I agreed but wasn't too excited. It had never interested me before. But I was very surprised to find the city so pretty and so clean! I'm from New Orleans and tourists and locals both just trash...
Pros: interesting, exciting, lots to see and do Cons: expensive, some parts are trashy, crowded
my husband, his friend, and I went to Vegas for the first time about 2 months ago, so it was a new experience for all of us. we stayed at the Mirage, my husband and I bumped our standard room up to a deluxe for an additional 50 bucks a night. his ...
Pros: It's big, big, big and bright! Cons: People handing out flyers for pornography
Here are some of my thoughts on Vegas, some of the things I have observed while there on a brief three night, three day trip with my friends:
1. People of ethnic background tend to hold most of the lowest ranks on the totem pole.
2. No matter...
Pros: Fantastic food, service, and champagne Cons: Okay, I gained a few pounds!

Lots of buffets are available in Las Vegas. There are the all-you-can-eat ones your practically have to choke down for $5.95. Then there are the buffets that actually have good food like at the Rio....
Pros: Very entertaining, lots to look at Cons: Too many kids!!!
This spring, I took my first trip to Las Vegas. I couldn't wait to visit "sin city." However, I was a little surprised to find out that sin city was more like kid city. Everywhere I turned, I saw kids and baby strollers. Every dinner I had, we were...
I have been to Vegas twice. I know this does not make me an expert, but as a novice, I have truly fallen for this town. The strip, in my opinion, having traveled downtown to check it out, is the place to be.
There are several free attractions to...
Pros: MGM GRAND, MONTE CARLO BUFFET, RICK THOMAS MAGIC SHOW, STRATOSPHERE RIDES.
Cons: LANCE BURTON, LANCE BURTON, LANCE BURTON, TREASURE ISLAND BUFFET, 3D RIDES AT VENETIAN
Took the family on a much needed vacation (I just returned from Iraq in AUG) from 23 NOV 28 NOV 03. I purchased the tickets online through Expedia. It was me, my wife, and my children ages 16, 14, 11. The oldest being a girl. As I ...
Pros: Reasonably prices at $45-$50 per ticket Cons: Lame show and bad set
This review is pertaining specifically to the Lance Burton show at the Monte Carlo casino in Las Vegas. We went to the show on 8/29/2000 and were really disappointed.
From the start of the show we knew this wasn't for us. We've been to a lot...
Pros: lots to see, it always changing Cons: people handing out flyers and the heat
The lights....the size of the hotels....the people...and the heat. I did go to Vegas in August so I guess I have no right to complain about the 105 degree weather, but I can suggest that when you do go make sure it is between October-March. Also if...
Pros: Great rooms for the off-peak prices, fun sites - one of those you gotta see it at least once places Cons: Not a great place for families with young kids or for the non-gambler and/or smoker
My husband and I were passing through Las Vegas on our way to my Mom's in Southern California. Normally, we avoid Vegas at all costs because of the crowds. However, my job involves researching unique byways in the US, and the Vegas Strip was recently...
Pros: Best Show in Vegas Cons: Ticket prices are high, but well worth your money
My last trip I finally got around to seeing some shows. My favorite was Cirque du Soliele's Mystere. This is located at Treasure Island. I had heard so many people rave on this show that I finally had to go myself. I sat in total amazement. There is...
Pros: Lots of things for kids to enjoy Cons: Can add up if you take in too much extras.
Our family just got back from LV for Christmas vacation. Why did we do it.
Well we wanted a place open and active yet it is a great time to go to LV since the crowds are way down. Cabbies complain of being on the low end of wages that week....
My husband and I "escaped" from the kids for five days in August and stayed at Mandalay Bay. It was my first time in Las Vegas and the third visit for my husband who had previously been there for business.
Pros: Lavish City, fun w/out gambling Cons: don't go in summer
I'm a sometime poker player, and as I got a little better I started taking trips to Vegas. Not to actually play poker (I'm a home player, I just can't get a grip on the casino-play), but more to revel in a city that has managed to survive and thrive on,...
Pros: Beautiful property, great food, excellent show Cons: None whatsoever
We recently stayed at the Bellagio for 4 nights and had the BEST time of our lives. The hotel is first class all the way and the casino is by far the nicest in Las Vegas.
There were no complaints about the hotel what so ever. Check-in was a...
Pros: Not someplace you see everyday Cons: Tacky, tacky, tacky!
What an interesting little town this place is! Dolly Parton once said "It costs me tons of money to make me look this trashy" and I think the same can be said of Vegas. Let's face it...Most of us, and I mean 99%, don't go to Vegas for the family...

Pros: Great Hotels; Beautiful city Cons: Kid attractions close early
I went to Las Vegas when I was in the ninth grade. So obviously, my parents decided to drag the kids around for a little gambling fun. Actually, Las Vegas has become more and more family oriented over the years.

Pros: many shows; some free Cons: expensive hotels on Strip

If you don't like cities, don't go to Las Vegas. If you do like cities, there is no reason not to go to Las Vegas. I'm the type of person who likes cities but doesn't care for crowds, but on The Strip the lights are too blinding to see crowds and I know...
Pros: fun factor: 100 Cons: can be a little too fun

Pros: Very pedestrian friendly!! Cons: They are much too liberal with smokers. The smokers make the place stink!!!!!!
I stayed in the San Remo, but was able to see and do a lot on foot. I rented a car but didn't need it very often. In some cases it was easier to walk. The 'free' monorail system and the pedestrian walkways make it feasible to not bother with a vehicle...
Pros: Lot of action, easy to get around Cons: Traffic
On my Las Vegas trip, I stayed in the Imperial Palace, which is located roughly in the middle of the Strip. If you don't have a mode of transportation, try to stay somewhere in the middle of the Strip, but even if you are at one of the hotels on the...
Pros: It is so fun you won't believe yourself. Cons: If you don't like walking this is not for you.

Pros: Can this be any better? Cons: Very crowded at times

Pros: I Got To Play Wealthy, Without Spending Money Cons: A Person Could Get Used To This, And Lose a Lot of Marbles!

Certainly going back (with a larger budget)... by mrsmashy ,Sep 17 '03
Pros: atmosphere, change-of-pace, incredible sights Cons: can be expensive, crowded, lots of walking
I was on such a shoe-string budget that I BUSSED down to Vegas (35-hour trip) and spent my nights at a Day's Inn a half-mile off the strip (more on that later)...
That said, I had the time of my life.
Hilites of my 3-day visit:
- architecture at Luxor
- beauty of Bellagio's and Mirage's gardens
- detailed themes at the Hilton and Treasure Island
- sheer magnitude of Caesar's Palace
- unbelievable food
Lowlites:
- wore out a pair of shoes
- developed blisters on my feet
- cheap motel off-the-strip = shower head at chest-level
- long bus-trip = wanting to harm roommates
- smut-peddlers who won't take no for an answer
The Strip is the Place to Be if You Are Young and Like to Party by zzz1324 ,May 05 '05
Pros: -Close to all of the action
-Nicer casinos
-Nicer Hotels
Cons: -Gambling is more expensive
-Don't expect that "Old Vegas" feel.
I have been to Vegas multiple times and have always had a great time. I have always stayed at various places on the main strip. It is definitely the place to be if you want to be around all the mega-casino's where the party goes on all night. I have visited the downtown area (which is worth visiting) However, there is more to see (and it is safer) to be on the strip at 5 in the morning when you stumble back to your hotel room.
Todd English's Olives: Fast Food Experience at Fine Dining Prices by kozmonaut ,Oct 17 '06
Pros: Don't have to visit Olives ever again. Cons: Service, food... in short, everything.
Visited Olives on Sunday. Being seated along the grate facing the Bellagio walkway really drove home the fact that Olives is nothing more than a stand in a glorified food court. Our water glasses were dirty and smelled of fish. The beef carpaccio took the form of a platter-sized mushy beef pizza. Absolutely revolting.
Then, a table of 9 was crammed into the corner next to us, already a very tight spot. Considering that we were expecting to lay down upwards of $400 for a dinner for 2, we asked that the quality of our dining experience be given some consideration. A host named Garret told us that we should close out our bill if we didn't like it. Exactly what we did.
