Pros: Many luxury hotels and shops Cons: very expensive and depressing if you don't gamble
I think everyone should go to Las Vegas at least once in their life. So, now, I've been there and I never want to go again. You could not afford to buy anything in the shops in the fancy hotels, so there goes shopping.
(Although I did find a...

Pros: I Got To Play Wealthy, Without Spending Money Cons: A Person Could Get Used To This, And Lose a Lot of Marbles!
Last week, I returned from Las Vegas, having met my brother there. My brother had been invited, as a high roller, to participate in a Black Jack Tournament at the Paris/Bally's. I never had such a fantastic adventure in my life!
Coming...

Pros: stunning Cons: it ended
My husband took me to see this show for my birthday. It was the most spectacular thing I have ever seen. I have been telling people about this show ever since I got back from Vegas.
It is visually stunning. Even the opening of the show when...

Pros: exciting, different Cons: hot, hot, hot
The Las Vegas strip is one of the most exciting, fun places i've ever been. It is very strange looking coming in from a plane, because it is just a two mile long strip of fancy hotels in the middle of the dessert, with nothing else really near it. Once...

Pros: Funny and entertaining Cons: none
When visiting Las Vegas I recommend seeing Danny Gans. I saw Danny Gans when he was performing at the Rio. He is now performing at the Paris. He was entertaining to say the least. I couldn't believe how incredible his impressions truly were! He did...

Certainly going back (with a larger budget)...
by mrsmashy ,Sep 17 '03
Pros: atmosphere, change-of-pace, incredible sights Cons: can be expensive, crowded, lots of walking
I was on such a shoe-string budget that I BUSSED down to Vegas (35-hour trip) and spent my nights at a Day's Inn a half-mile off the strip (more on that later)...
That said, I had the time of my life.
Hilites of my 3-day visit:
- architecture at Luxor
- beauty of Bellagio's and Mirage's gardens
- detailed themes at the Hilton and Treasure Island
- sheer magnitude of Caesar's Palace
- unbelievable food
Lowlites:
- wore out a pair of shoes
- developed blisters on my feet
- cheap motel off-the-strip = shower head at chest-level
- long bus-trip = wanting to harm roommates
- smut-peddlers who won't take no for an answer

The Strip is the Place to Be if You Are Young and Like to Party
by zzz1324 ,May 05 '05
Pros: -Close to all of the action
-Nicer casinos
-Nicer Hotels
Cons: -Gambling is more expensive
-Don't expect that "Old Vegas" feel.
I have been to Vegas multiple times and have always had a great time. I have always stayed at various places on the main strip. It is definitely the place to be if you want to be around all the mega-casino's where the party goes on all night. I have visited the downtown area (which is worth visiting) However, there is more to see (and it is safer) to be on the strip at 5 in the morning when you stumble back to your hotel room.

Todd English's Olives: Fast Food Experience at Fine Dining Prices
by kozmonaut ,Oct 17 '06
Pros: Don't have to visit Olives ever again. Cons: Service, food... in short, everything.
Visited Olives on Sunday. Being seated along the grate facing the Bellagio walkway really drove home the fact that Olives is nothing more than a stand in a glorified food court. Our water glasses were dirty and smelled of fish. The beef carpaccio took the form of a platter-sized mushy beef pizza. Absolutely revolting.
Then, a table of 9 was crammed into the corner next to us, already a very tight spot. Considering that we were expecting to lay down upwards of $400 for a dinner for 2, we asked that the quality of our dining experience be given some consideration. A host named Garret told us that we should close out our bill if we didn't like it. Exactly what we did.
