Pros: cool Cons: cool
New York, New York--You know, I LOVE New York, and most times I'd rather take my adventures in the Big Apple than anywhere else. But there is life beyond Manhattan, and a nice life it is. Sandy beaches, ornate mansions, glitzty gambling junkets--all...

Pros: Beautiful during the Winter and Summer Cons: sometimes it's too cold and can limit outdoor activities
Winter time in Rochester, New York is cold, but incredibly Beautiful. With Countless activities to partake in, I never found myself without anything to do. The skiing is superb and in the dead of winter, you can ice skate on one of the many lakes around...

Pros: Variety, quality, and a unique atmosphere Cons: Hmmm, where's the bagels?
When an afternoon rain shower hits and you need something to keep you (and the kids) busy, head to Hoss' General Store in the village of Long Lake. This is not a run of the mill tacky souvenir shop, though there's plenty of great little gifts to bring...

New York-A wonderful place to live and visit
by irishguy139 ,Jan 14 '04
Pros: Safe for a big City, culture, night life, winter scenery Cons: Traffic, Expensive, and winter climate
As a new resident to New York, all I can say about is I love it. I first became attracted to New York since I visited it 15 months ago, eventually to the point of moving here. I appreciate it for the cultural mecca that it is. I have also traveled the world over and lived in some cities, however, my place to live is here in New York. For such a huge metropolis, I found New York to be very safe (one of the reasons I moved here from Florida). Even safer than many cities I've visited which are only a quarter of its size. Like any city you can always find some problems, but take the usual precautions as you would in any other city. But for the most part I enjoy living here.
