The VIVA! Series - Almost Too Cool for Cleveland

by WendyD3520 , Apr 12 '01
Pros: A wonderful variety of performances.
Cons: The museum is hard to get to from almost every area of Cleveland.
Friends that have lived all their lives in Northeast Ohio hate it when I say something like this. I’ve been here 12 years and have been happy; there are many wonderful things about Cleveland. Its people are warm and friendly (love that Little Italy). It...

Cleveland, Hometown Pride!!

by Chelie11 , Aug 16 '00
Pros: Too many to mention
Cons: Snow snow snow!!!!
Drew Carey, the Cleveland Indians, the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame, the river getting set on fire, the flats ... all are among the most common things that one thinks about when the city of Cleveland is brought up.

Funny, I hardly think about...

by ingridjen , Apr 30 '00
Pros: Rich history
Cons: I missed the tour!
My second daughter and I traveled to Cleveland, Ohio last weekend to attend the 100th birthday of my paternal grand aunt. It has been twenty years since we last visited Cleveland, there were many changes, many new buildings but still some things never...

Drew Carey is right, Cleveland Rocks!

by biscuitfarmer Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Jan 01 '05
Pros: Lots of culture, plenty of entertainment, easy to get around safely.
Cons: Major attractions somewhat pricey.
There was quite a bit of truth when Drew Carey in his hit television show stated that Cleveland Ohio was the greatest place to live. And when the Presidents, an alternative band, decided to make a song, which ultimately became the theme song for the ...

by keithpruitt Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Apr 27 '07
Pros: Impressive cemetery, historic, resting place of James Garfield, Elliot Ness, John D. Rockefeller
Cons: Lacking cemetery map that shows where famous tombs can be located
As an educational consultant, I travel a great deal. Just in the last two weeks I have been in Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. While I usually have very tight schedules between presentations and air flights, I sometimes try to put in a bit of ...

Cleveland is a great weekend getaway!

by slynners , Sep 05 '02
Pros: city is very driveable, downtown is CLEAN and safe, lots to do
Cons: unsafe areas very near the downtown, a night on the town is expensive
Last weekend, my boyfriend and I took a little weekend trip to Cleveland. We live in Pittsburgh, so it was only a 2 hour drive.

Highlights:
We visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and surrounding area along the water. It was a...

Six Flags killed Geauga Lake

by Chelie11 , Aug 07 '00
Pros: New Coasters.
Cons: A lot of stuff was closed, or non-functional.
Growing up in Cleveland, right around the corner from Aurora made it easy and affordable to make annual trips to Geauga Lake and Sea World. It's something I've done since I was a small child, a tradition I have been carrying on with my own daughter.

Ah, Coventry!

by Darkmistress Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jun 14 '00
Pros: This is what Little Five Points wishes it was.
Cons: Complicated to get to. There is no interstate exit.
Coventry is approximately three blocks long, but it's a really great three blocks, jam packed with neat little shops, restaurants in all ranges, and at least one live theatre. It would be easy to spend a day wandering from shop to shop no matter what...

Cleveland: Rain or Shine in University Circle

by jenscookie , Apr 14 '01
Pros: Cleveland's attractions can be enjoyed regardless of the lake effect.
Cons: Beware traffic! Bring your map!
Enjoying Cleveland's attractions requires flexibility, as the weather changes by the hour, sometimes more often, especially in Spring. As a sometime resident and frequent visitor, I'm providing you with a sampling of child-friendly springtime activities...

University Circle Boasts Magnificent Museums

by wildvirgogirl , Jan 31 '00
Pros: Nearby Little Italy; Plenty of parking; Inexpensive day trip for the culturally inquisitive; Great for families.
Cons: Cleveland is not a very clean city; Residents have difficulties driving in snowy conditions; Museum fees and parking can be a bit pricey for those on a limited budget.
Preface:
This review of the Museums of University Circle is a companion piece to my coverage of Murray Hill, also known as Little Italy. Be sure not to miss all the artistic offerings this city on the shores of Lake Erie has to...

Culture? Really?

by Darkmistress Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jun 10 '00
Pros: Intellectual stimulation in a neat and small location
Cons: Trying to drive and/or park. Park once, walk everywhere else.
Just for clarity, I live here. Well, near here, but I've had many house guests who came expressing disbelief that there would be anything to do in Cleveland and left singing its praises. And these are not generally folks who are going to be...

Strictly Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

by Kaurisma , Nov 03 '00
Pros: Spacious and comfortable, right next to the lake, parking isn't so bad during non-peak seasons, JOHN LENNON TRIBUTE
Cons: Parking might be difficult due to location and during peak tourist seasons.

Murray Hill Means More To Me Than Bars & Baseball

by wildvirgogirl , Jan 31 '00
Pros: December Art Walks are for those who can bear the wind chills off Lake Erie and love to hibernate in the Italian eateries; It's fairly inexpensive for a day trip depending on how many people are in your party.
Cons: June Art Walks are more populated with families (strollers in tow) so it's harder to maneuver the gallery spaces; You will be less likely to linger IF you can even get a reservation at the Italian eateries; Minimal parking is available on The Hill.
Upon initially reading the review by mgreber about Cleveland, I was left with the distinct impression that anyone, thinking of traveling to this predominantly industrialized city, would believe it has only something to offer the beautiful...
