Pros: Affordable for families, lots of food options, Lake Schafer pontoon ride. Cons: Seriously needs some maintenance and updating.
Anyone in the northern Indiana area is likely familiar with the catchy commercials proclaiming, Theres more than corn, in Indiana, theres Indiana Bee-ee-eeech! After years of bombarding anyone who would listen with my fond ...
Pros: Roller coasters, water fun, junk food Cons: crowded, saw very few staff members, beach was unappealing, can't picnic by the car
Or, maybe there were just too many people on it (the "beach"). Our group of four headed to Indiana Beach one Saturday morning after being turned away from the 15-mile canoe trip...no available canoes. Well, we were in Indiana and already had the kids at...
Pros: Small, clean, reasonably priced Cons: Summer crowd invasion of my small town
Having grown up close to Indiana Beach, I felt I needed to offer my own epinion on this fun park. Indiana Beach is genuinely a family fun park, geared to all ages located in the relatively small town of Monticello, Indiana on the not-so-beautiful Lake...
Pros: Atmosphere, price, cleanliness, boardwalk feel Cons: Parking is not clearcut, food a little pricey
Indiana Beach (IB) is a nice park built on Lake Shafer, in Monticello, Indiana. We are a Northern Kentucky (near Cincy, OH) family who heard about IB while camping in Gatlinburg, TN. The first thing about the park is it is built out over Lake Shafer ...
Pros: not many Cons: too crowded and not very clean
My wife and I decided to visit Indiana Beach this last weekend after reading about it on the internet and some of the different opinions people gave it that recommended it. It didn't take long for us to see that the good ratings that people gave it were...
Pros: Only $2.50 to enter the park - but is your life worth $2.50? Cons: DEATH TRAP
This was my 1st time visiting this run down place. And I won't be going again. It is something that should have been updated long ago. My daughter got hurt there, due to an unconcerned worker. We were told to approach and load the ride (The Den of ...
Pros: inexpensive, great games and rides for young kids, entertaining for all ages! Cons: located in the middle of nowhere
We took my in-laws with us on a 4 night , 5 day trip to Monticello, Indiana to stay at Indiana Beach with our young kids, ages 2 and 4. We rented a cottage there, a small unit close to the pool. The cottage was fine- nothing fancy, but it was definitely ...
Pros: Affordable, family-friendly, small-town atmosphere. Cons: Outdated, staff could use some people skills.
Indiana Beach is not your luxury resort, but little by little they are trying to improve what they can. The only reason we go is for the kids. Our children are 3,8,10 & 11. We stay right on the Indiana Beach premises and can go in and out of the ...
Pros: The short road trip back to Chicago. Cons: The obvious off ramp from the Twilight Zone.
I went to Indiana Beach with my wife, children at the behest of her aunt and uncle, who have been taking their kids since infancy. I was unaware that the U.S. Government would allow a small third world country to exist within it's borders. We stayed in ...
Pros: fun for the whole family, no long lines, inexpensive Cons: none
Indiana is a fun place to go for a day. It is small enough that you can ride all the rides in one days time. It has everything from games to roller coasters. One cool ride is the double drop. You go up into the air and get dropped twice. It is fun....
As a child being brought here annually, I loved the atmosphere here it's almost ghostly because of its age and history. Now as a parent of three I love bringing my family here, and the feeling is mutual! The park is small in terms of acreage, but huge in ...
As the crow says "There's more than corn in Indiana", by hoosiermo ,Jan 25 '04
Pros: The lines are short to non-existant if you go in the middle of week. Cons: Indiana beach operates with the option of pay-one-price. There are two sessions daily.
If you come with the expectation of another cedar point you'll be disappointed. This park doesn't claim to be that. On the other hand if you don't like long lines and want a day where the family can spend the day together you'' be pleasantly surprised. if you go durng the week crowds are small. many rides you can walk right onto. Some of the rides give you the feeling of a county fair. There is also roller coasters, a log flume, spook houses, and old fashion cars to give you a feeling of an amusement park experience. Unlike at bigger amusement parks where you split up and don't see the teenagers for half the day,Here they can ride a couple rides then come watch the kids while you ride a couple rides. Though I've never been on the weekend, I've heard it can gt quite crowded. The boat ride on lake Schaffer is a pleasant change of pace.
We had 10 of us in our group with 5 kids below 12 and 5 adults. 9 of us preferred this park to the big parks in ohio.
The #2 Most Visited Indiana Park.... by fatcow07 ,Apr 30 '05
Pros: ok mine ride Cons: everything else outside the mine ride
....comes a little short of becoming one of the worst parks in existence. The rides are cheap, feel like they're falling apart in the middle of a ride on them, and the park's "beach" is more like trash dump next to a lake. The park doesn't have very good maintanence and the park is totally out of control with guests that think they can just run over children to get to the mine train coaster or the Cornball Express. This park is not a very good one at all and if you ever are on your way to Lafayette, don't go anywhere near this park, it is certainly a waist of time but a good place to laugh about how nasty and ugly the park was later.
