Pros: Lots of rides for Teens, Preteens, Kids and kids-at-heart. Charming atmosphere, not corporate.
Cons: Sometimes waiting for rides takes a little long. A little dated--not brand-spanking new.

Summary: QUIZ: Lakeside Amusement Park in Denver, Colorado is an excellent location to: a) spend the day riding roller coasters, tilt-a-whirls and other rides without breaking the bankb) have a birthday party or family picnic and bring (or ... read more

Pros: Rich History, Great Rides, Low cost, Easy-going atmosphere.
Cons: Some history erased or unmaintained. Always atleast one ride down for years maintence.

Summary: I love that place. Ever since my first time there. I happened to go just last night (8/05/04) and it is still my favorite Amusement park. No, it may not be "as big" or "as great" as Six Flags Elich Gardens... but then again, it is a Family owned ... read more

    Pros: Older Coasters.
Cons: Scary Carnival Atmosphere. In a gang saturated part of town.

Summary: I am a Denver native. I am in my mid-twenties now and finally went to Lakeside last year. When I was younger and growing up in Sheridan my mother would not let us go to Lakeside because of all of the gangs and crime at the park or in the area of ... read more

Pros: Fairly priced, not commercial/high-tech/snobby, pleasant surroundings, small (if any) lines
Cons: If you don't like a carnival atmosphere, it's not for you.

Summary: Lakeside vs. Elitch's? I'll take Lakeside any day, for the reasons stated in MMMcloud's review. My idea of fun is riding the Cyclone, getting back in line and being back on the track usually within ten to fifteen minutes. Sure, Elitch's rides are ... read more

Pros: Beautiful setting, many trees, rated safest by State and insurance inspectors
Cons: Need some paint and restoration work.

Summary: Lakeside may have not have the high thrill rides of the international chain parks. It may not have the advertising budget of the international chain parks. It may need some landscape work, building restoration and paint. BUT it has charm and big trees ... read more

Pros: No one died this week
Cons: It is still in business

Summary: When I saw the section on Theme Parks, I kind of chuckled because we have a park here that no one in their right mind would go to. It is old, run-down and just plain scary! I perused the Theme Park section and, lo and behold, this park was in it! ... read more

Pros: For those who love art deco and inexpensive entertainment, this is your place!
Cons: Those who love modern amusements probably wouldn't appreciate this park.

Summary: Step back into time when you enter Lakeside Amusement Park. Lots of cool art deco, neon and classic rides. For the price it's a spectacular bargain and makes for a great evening out. Even the concession prices are unbelievably reasonable. A nice

    Pros: Inexpensive, nostalgic, kid friendly
    Cons: maintenance could be better

Summary: This is a fun and inexpensive place to take young children for their first amusement park experience. I brought my son there last summer when he was 2 years old. We stayed in Kiddieland except to visit the main park for the classic carousel ride and the
