Have you ever seen a buffalo do THAT?

by kentmom , Feb 15 '05
Pros: Hilarious fun, good view of "wild" animals
Cons: As zoos go, this one seems a bit cruel. It also SMELLS rather strong.
African Safari Wildlife Park in Port Clinton is something of a drive-thru Zoo...plus, there are pig races. Warning: do not go to this park with a new car, or without a kid along. The car will get dirty (at least-keep reading) and you'll feel like an ...

One Wild Park!

by jhmill7 , Dec 05 '02
Pros: Lots of fun for the whole family!
Cons: The cost of getting in.
Have you ever wondered, "Gee, I wish I knew where I could find a big, dirty buffalo to rub it's head on the grill of my car?" If you have, then African Safari Wildlife Park is for you! It is located "17 miles from Cedar Point" and is a must stop place...

what a wonderful place

by petaddict , Aug 08 '00
Pros: being up close and personal with those amazing animals
Cons: feed for the animals is expensive
While planning our yearly vacation we found out that our membership with our local zoo, entitled us to admission to the African Safari Wildlife Park. Well, being a family of animal lovers we thought it would be the ideal end to our trip.

We...

Up close and personal with animals

by stems , Jul 18 '01
Pros: Great family adventure up close with animals, won't tire kids out like a zoo.
Cons: Costs 14.95 for adults and 9.95 for kids
African Safari Wildlife is a great place to go for a family adventure that is unique and different. It's like a petting zoo that you drive through but with bigger animals. You can get as close as you want to the animals. If you let them they will stick...

We Had a Great Time!
by grandmax2 ,Jun 15 '06
Pros: We enjoyed seeing the animals with no barrier (other than the vehicle) between us.
Cons: The caged animal display was disappointing since we'd just seen BIG animals roaming "free".
Two children, 6 and 3, two adults, and grandma. We had a two-hour drive ("Are we there yet?!"), but enjoyed the drive-through experience once there.

The day was sunny and temps balmy. A coupon available on-line saved us the dollars we then invested in many cups of food pellets and cello bags of carrots. Our admission allowed repeated trips through the area and we drove the circuit three times. The size of some animals was intimidating, but none were aggressive beyond their demonstration of knowing where the food was and wanting a share.

We purchased lunch in the park, visited the caged animal display and attended the pig race, which was made enjoyable by the mistress of ceremonies. At another park venue the "pig lady" introduced some smaller animals to her audience. The kids played in the playground and the six year old rode the camel (there was no charge).
