We saw cockroaches and liked it at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Park.

by chelledun chelledun is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Hotels & Travel, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, Jun 04 '09
Pros: Great insect, bird, and manatee displays, zoo is in the process of improving itself.
Cons: Stinky food service and some too-small animal enclosures.
The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden is currently reinventing itself.  When we visited in late May, we entered through a brand spanking new front entrance and encountered a variety of construction projects geared toward producing new ...

Great for kids, possibly tedious for anyone else

by arianej Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jun 05 '00
Pros: lots of kids activities, some nice exhibits
Cons: Hot, noisy, tickets aren't cheap and adults may be bored

Living in nearby Dayton, OH, I've been to the Cincinnati Zoo several times as a kid, but the last time I went was 7-8 years ago. Much has changed since then. More greenery and plants have been incorporated into the animal exhibits and around...

Historical yes ... Good Zoo no

by Wardukeky , Dec 29 '00
Pros: Bald Eagles in flight
Cons: mostly tiny cages with little environment
During a visit to the Cincinnati area last summer, my family decided to check out the Cincinnati Zoo since we get free reciprocal admittance from our membership in another zoo. The money to park was almost all it cost us and I'm glad because otherwise I...

Not top quality at all

by cristamomof2 , Nov 24 '00
Pros: Has some exotic animals
Cons: Animals severely confined, steep admission/parking, little to see, confusing layout, not stoller friendly
I might have confused this zoo with Columbus zoo, and was severely disappointed when my family went several weeks ago. Admission I thought was kind of steep: Adults $10, children 2-12 $4.75, on top of $5 for parking!
When we first entered I...

e) ALL OF THE uh...BELOW

by TWINKLETOZ , Dec 21 '00
Pros: A HISTORY MAKING ZOO FOR THE PAST, AND THE FUTURE
Cons: It takes ENERGY, and TIME, to do it right.
Are all of the reviews of The CINCINNATI ZOO and BOTANICAL PARK talking about the same place? Barring minor memory error, yes, they are.

In one way, or another, I have been a visitor to the Cincinnati Zoo at least once, nearly every year,...

One of my favorites

by cberger , Mar 12 '04
Pros: history, remodeled exhibits
Cons: hilly
I've been a member at the zoo for several years and the reciprocating program is great for me since we do a lot of traveling. I would recommend parking inside the zoo lots as I know of people who have had their cars broken into. The area surrounding ...

A field to trip where???

by donnab1970 , Nov 20 '00
Pros: nice animals
Cons: too many schools during April/May
I went to the Cincinnati Zoo when my oldest son was in first grade (two years ago). I vowed I would never do that again!

It was late spring, you know the time of year when kids are ready to be out of school, and it was unbelievably hot. Not...

Maybe I just went at the wrong time?

by Hawkee , Oct 16 '00
Pros: Variety of Animals
Cons: Nothing to hold my interest and expensive.
I remember going to the zoo when I was a child and loving every minute of it. From the ape house to the penguins. This year, I wasn't as impressed.

We try to make a trip to the zoo at least once a year. This year, we ended up going in late...

3rd Best Zoo for a reason

by jparmstr , Aug 27 '00
Pros: huge variety of exhibits, great shows
Cons: none
My family has been in living in the Cincinnati area for roughly 2 years. Never being quite the zoo kind of person, I procrastinated visiting the local zoo. After numerous pleads by my wife, who had gone several times with our newborn, I went. I was...

Not the best zoo

by ditodd , Aug 28 '00
Pros: well done landscaping, the new exhibits are nice
Cons: most of the animals enclosures are very small
I am a resident of Cincinnati and a neighbor of the Zoo--in fact, I can look out my window and see the Bald Eagle's cage across the hill...Despite the fact the I could walk there in two minutes, I never find myself going there unless we get an out of...

by Arizonabound , Sep 29 '00
Pros: A great learning experience and lots of fun to be had
Cons: Admission and parking are a tad pricey as well as foods inside the park
Ahhhh, the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens. It's the most beautiful place in all of Cincinnati.

I've lived in Cincinnati my whole life and never tire of going to that Zoo. As a matter of fact, I worked there for a year in the...

A great zoo, but not for the faint of wallet!

by tavarish75 , Sep 22 '00
Pros: Beautiful!!!!
Cons: Overpriced food
We went to the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Park for my birthday (I am 25 years old, but love zoos, as do my children). I really enjoyed the zoo, the exhibits are beautiful and they are clearly well thought out, and there are some interesting looking...

cincinnati zoo is great

by Beck2ly , Nov 16 '00
Pros: Nice and realistic exhibits
Cons: Price.....I'm cheap!
My husband and I went to the Cincinnati Zoo about 3 years ago. I drug him to the there instead of going to see the Reds play. We were there on vacation. After the day had passed, I believe he enjoyed it more than me. Don't get me wrong I loved it too....
