Pros: They keep making improvements to an already great zoo. Cons: Big hills and hot days don't mix well.
As a busy stay at home Mom of two preschoolers I am on the look for fun that is cheap. The education value is a major plus, but price always plays a factor. We buy a zoo pass to the Henry Doorly Zoo for $55, if you buy a membership after March 31 it is ...

Pros: Zoo and Aquarium both.
Open year round. Cons: HILLS to walk, cost of food & drink.
I stumbled onto the Henry Doorly Zoo about two years ago when I moved into Bellevue (basically a suburb of Omaha),
Nebraska.
I get acquainted with new areas by wandering aimlessly and
getting lost then finding my way back to where...

Pros: The Lied Jungle and Aquarium. Cons: The over priced gift shops at the end of each major exhibit.
For some ungodly reason, I volunteered to help out on the Boys and Girls Club of Central Iowa's trip to the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska. I've visited the zoo several times myself and really enjoyed it and my daughter is a member of the Boys and...

Pros: Lots of attractions, relatively cheap admission, not too busy sans CWS time. Cons: Pricey everywhere else, lots of hills, Omaha weather is spotty at best
I moved away from Omaha about five years ago to move to Dallas to obtain my undergrad. I now live in L.A. pursuing my MFA. I was ready to leave Omaha, but three things I miss from home are family, friends and the zoo. The Henry Doorly Zoo is a great ...

Pros: Much to see and do! Cons: Size of the park is a bit much for older visitors.
Henry Doorly Zoo is one of those places that you return to over and over again. So much to see and do, areas and buildings to explore!
The rain forest is a great attraction and my favorite time to visit is in the winter. The very first...

Pros: Many top-notch exhibits, accessible to disabled, clean throughout. Cons: Admission fees are in the $7 range per adult. Some popular exhibits, such as the aquarium, can be crowded depending on the day or time of year.
Make a day of it when you visit Henry Doorly Zoo. It is top-notch, first-class and expanding as fast as zoo director Lee Simmons can make it happen.
Simmons has made things happen and a new Desert Under a Dome will be the next attraction. But...
