Pros: Animals, Express bus, tour bus Cons: hilly and hard to walk, they are missing quite a few animals,
I have just moved out to California from Arkansas, so one of the first things I had to do once getting out here was visit the San Diego Zoo. I have always heard that it was the best zoo, anywhere--and also being a biologist I must admit I have a certain f ...

Pros: Easy accessible for handicapped, Very large zoo, good size parking lot with security staff. Cons: Animals were mostly sleeping, cleanliness, pushy crowds, seal show, too many push carts selling nonsense.
I went to the San Diego Zoo this weekend 5-4-02 with my boyfriend. I was so excited because I love animals and I had heard so much about this zoo. I had hyped up myself for this since I have moved to CA and finally I was going.
Ok so we...

Pros: The behind-the-scenes giraffe tour was interesting, and you can buy Elephant POOP Paper. Cons: The bus tour wasn't worth it because you didn't see anything.
Our experience at the San Diego Zoo was disappointing for us, since we have a very fine zoo in our own backyard, Madison, Wisconsin, where the admission is and always will be free according to the land lease agreement. That being said, as a group we ...

Pros: AAA Discounts, Very Clean Cons: Confusing maps
Last summer we went to the San Diego Zoo as part of our family vacation. After years of hearing how fantastic the zoo was as I was growing up in St.Louis watching Johnny Carson. I went in with high expectations.
Parking wasn't a problem at...

Pros: Sky Tram; some really neat shops Cons: too expensive, not many animals
I visited San Diego Zoo in early December when my mother came to visit from Texas. There wasn't much on her to do list, but that was DEFINITELY one of them. Since my hubby's a Marine, we went on base to buy our tickets at a discount, and I was very...

Pros: Wide variety of animals, knowledgeable tour guides Cons: long hike, cant see alot of the animals.

Pros: Natural-style animal habitats; gargantuan 32 oz. beers. Cons: Can get quite hot--not right on the bay; many hills.
My first trip to the "world famous" San Diego Zoo was roughly two years ago. It is a really excellent zoo with a large variety of animals, and for the most part the animals live in "natural-style" habitats rather than the old concrete-and-bars type of...

Pros: Interesting, beautiful, entertaining, educational Cons: Sometimes crowded during summer weekends
This is my first epinion, and I immediately thought of the zoo when I was considering things/places that rank high on our list. I grew up in San Diego and now live in Arizona. We have had a membership for years, and easily still take advantage of it...

Pros: Huge collection of animals Cons: May feel sorry for those animals behind bars in small cages
Although I had been to the San Diego zoo a long time ago, I didn't remember the trip. So I went to the San Diego Zoo to see what all the hype was about. After all, people know San Diego for only a couple things... Sea World and the San Diego Zoo. A...

Pros: vast, diverse collection of exotic animals Cons: crowded, expensive
The San Diego Zoo is one of the best zoos in the world. It is has a huge (4,000 animals), diverse (800 species) collection of animals, which are housed in large, frequently naturalistic cages. They have put a lot of effort into making the animals feel...

As soon as I found out I'd be visitin San Diego, I knew the San Diego Zoo would be on my "to do" list. I'd heard great things about this park on TV and from friends...and I was NOT disappointed! It was by far one of the nicest, cleanest, most...

Since my husband is in the navy we have lived in quite a few places and been to quite a few zoos but I have never had as good of an experience as the one I had at the San Diego Zoo.
I was amazed at all the variety of animals, the transportation to...

Pros: Beautiful and Unique! Cons: need more seating at concessions
This is the zoo for animal lovers! And well worth the physical exertion you will experience from walking the beautiful zoo grounds. I advise arriving as early as possible (to beat the heat & some of the crowds, but also because some of the animals...
