Pros: All the great animals Cons: Not enough time in a day to get it all in
We took our little 23 mos old baby boy yesterday and he really enjoyed it. He had been before, but he was younger.
Every time that we go there is so much to see, never get to see everything... not enough time in a day.
When we got...

Pros: So many animals Cons: So little time...(it's a very big park)
During a two-week vacation to Southern California, my husband and I decided to visit the world-famous San Diego Zoo. I knew it was a big zoo, but I was quite surprised when I saw just how big it really is.
This is one of those parks where the...

Pros: The bus tour is an education and entertaining Cons: None
If you want to see animals, and be able to get a close up take the the Zoo Bus Tour. When you arrive at the ticket booth, take the deluxe package rather than the cheaper entrance. Better than that if you are going to be in San Diego for 5 or more days,...

Pros: If you could actually see the pandas, I'd bet they were cool. Cons: Too many birds. They even have a cat and dog exhibit!
I am not exactly a zoo connoisseur, but I have been to a bunch of different zoos in different cities. Living in New York, I have been to the Bronx Zoo maybe 25 times in my 30 years of existence.
The San Diego Zoo was, in one word, a bust. The...

Pros: Wide range of animals Cons: The food is expensive
I just love the San Diego Zoo. I had lived in California for almost all my life. When I was a little girl my parents had took me there. I have also gone with my grandmother, and also my uncle. I loved that zoo. There is a wide variety of animals. Their...

Pros: Has one of a kind animals from all over the world Cons: Can be expensive
My family & I just visited the zoo this past week. I hate it's expensive, but it's something we don't do often. I've been to several zoos & nothing compares to this one. I've been visiting this zoo, since I was a small child, like my boys are...

Pros: great zoo wonderful exhibits Cons: a lot of uphill walking
Living in San Diego we go to the Zoo as often as we can. It is located in beautiful Balboa Park. It has over 3000 animals on exhibit. One of our favorites is the petting zoo and nursery. It is so amazing to see the new additions to the zoo.our other...

Pros: Best animal collection! Cons: Need good shoes to walk around in
We choose to go to the San Diego Zoo because my husband and son had never been there, and I barely remembered visiting there when I was 7! We ended up joining their Zoological society (it was only $12 more than our admission for the Zoo and Wild Animal...

Pros: fun and beautiful Cons: I wish it were closer - I would go all the time
The San Diego Zoo is by far the most wonderful zoo in Southern California. I have always loved zoos and have been to many of them. The San Diego Zoo is the prettiest with its flowers and landscaping around the park. The San Diego Zoo has the happiest...

Pros: lots of animals, free October, free parking Cons: hills, lots of walking, hard to get to areas
I don't understand the fascination with this zoo. It has a lot of animals including the new Baby Panda, but to me it is not worth the money to deal with ALL the hills of this zoo. You have to be physically fit, I felt like I was mountain climbing at...

Pros: Hippos, Polar Bear, and Alaskan Brown Bear Cons: Poor exhibits, small sized animals, poor layout.
Here's the scoop from a local: the San Diego Zoo is (I hate to say) just average. It's a product of its own hype. Our zoo's slogan is, "The World Famous" San Diego. The only thing famous about our zoo is that it continues to fool people into ...

Pros: Great for the family Cons: All zoo's smell
I recently took my six year old son to the San Diego Zoo, and we had a wonderful time. We went in May on a weekday, and it wasn't crowded at all. The exhibits are wonderful and the animals are in clean, well kept cages, and areas.
I love the...

Pros: Beautiful, great animal enclosures, good variety. Cons: Can't think of any
I was lucky enough to grow up in San Diego, and spent many happy hours at the Zoo. Since I've grown up and moved away, I've had the chance to visit some other zoos, and I have to say, San Diego's is the best, and they just keep improving it!

Pros: Panda's and Koalas Cons: Poor map, favorite exhibits closing unexpectedly
My family went to the zoo, late spring on a weekend. We live about an hour's drive from the zoo. It was our first time visiting so I checked out the zoo's website to get a feel of things. We were especially excited to see the Panda's. I feel I must...
