Pros: Size & variety of the hill, nice (but small) day lodge, skiing quality Cons: Not much in town, location/road condition, still being developed
First off, Panorama isn't great yet, but in a few years I know it will be one of my favourites. It was recently acquired by IntraWest, who are responsible for the development of Whistler/BlackComb and Mont Tremblant, two of Canada's premier ski resorts. ...

Pros: Good skiing if the conditions are in your favour; ski in-ski out accommodations. Cons: Unprecedented check-in delays, absolutely no effort at customer satisfaction
When we checked in at 5:00 on a Monday evening, we were informed that our condo wasn't ready, and wouldn't be until 7:30. Reception sent us off to "enjoy" pizza and warm pop, while the groceries that we had purchased for dinner ripened in our parked car. ...

Pros: Terrain, Heli Ski, Powder, Ski School, Employees Cons: Night Life, Expensive Food, Drinks and Accommodation
You can find it here...Fresh powder all day. Panorama is the best kept secret in the Canadian Rockies. If you are looking to do some serious skiing then this is the place. The "no frills" of the resort world. With the second highest vertical in...

Pros: Lots of powder, small crowds, great accommodations, friendly staff Cons: Out of the way, expensive restaurants
My Personal Experience at Panorama Resort
The first time I went to Panorama was on a ski vacation with my parents when I was about 8 years old. At the time, this ski resort was not one of the more family orientated ones, however over...

Pros: Great mountain, great snow, small crowds Cons: Out of the way
To be honest, Panorama was not our first choice when we were planning a ski trip to the Canadian Rockies. We found our top choices (the obvious - Whistler/Blackcomb, Lake Louise, Banff) booked up, and ended up booking a timeshare unit in Invermere, BC,...

Pros: snow, exclusivity Cons: cold
As a kid I visited this great ski resort many times. The ski school is
excellent for those first timers. This resort has the creme de la creme
of skiing, entertainment, food, and overall good time. Like most well
known ski resorts it...

Pros: No lines for the lifts, plenty of space, good range of runs, not crowded Cons: Out of the way. Not too much nightlife
An out of the way little gem stone. Great runs, sometimes these runs are all yours alone.
Outdoor hot pools big and great. If staying for 7 nights just about enough to keep you interested with the nightlife. Nearest place Invermere about 12 miles...

Pros: good accommodations, friendly, good instructors, good runs, awesome winter vacation! Cons: you have to leave eventually
I went to Panorama with my family a couple of years ago and it was one of our best vacations! The Silver Lodging Units are townhouses located right at the base of the mountain and you can ski right down to your front door or to the outdoor hot tubs. ...

Pros: Bountiful Powder, variety of runs, scenic, fun Cons: location, nightlife
Panorama is has the best snow on the West Coast. I know because I go to most of the major resorts in the Rockies each year during the Winter. In terms of skiing, the conditions of snow and variety are on average better than those of Whistler,...

good family resort, amazing scenery
by whiskeyjo ,Mar 11 '07
Pros: scenery, golf course, kid friendly Cons: hard and icy skiing
I've visited Panorama on dozens occasions and the scenery still takes my breath away. I would recommend Panorama in the summer, but not for a ski trip due to the snow being extremely hard packed and icy on most occasions.
The area is known for not getting much snow. It has extensive snow-making on most of the runs. The skiing conditions are more often than not, hard and icy. But if its not snowing, its sure to be sunny - so dont forget your camera on those days. If it is snowing (better check the report before committing) you're sure to have a great day in Taynton Bowl or on the non made-made snow runs. They have a nice long pitch but seemingly not a large variety or amount of runs (long but not wide)
The pools are a big hit with kids. The golf course is spectacular. Over all, I recommend Panorama quite highly for a summer trip, but will pass on a ski trip just due to the probability of extremely hard packed conditions.
