Pros: The view... the shopping... the food Cons: The crowds... and sometimes the prices
One of the most beautiful places on earth, and one of the things that makes Canada a great place to visit (and live!) I have to admit that my visit to Whistler was in the off-season with no skiing, but that certainly didn't affect the great time my ...
Pros: Huge, Nice Village, Wide variety of terrain Cons: Got lost in backcountry, Pain to get to
Last year planning my ski trip, I would read continously in magazines that Whistler-Blackcomb with on average over 300 inches of snow each year was the Number 1 Ski Resort in the World. I had my doubts that it could be that good, but when I finally made...
Pros: Read my Top 10 List. Cons: Lousy airport shuttle service. Too much rain/snow in the afternoon.
Even though I live on the East Coast, I am a West Coast skier. Ever loyal to the ski resorts at Mammoth and Lake Tahoe, I plan my Christmas vacations every year to coincide with my brother's scheduled ski trips. My brother loves to organize annual...
Pros: Superior, always patient and friendly staff Cons: Most maps in the area have the old location listed -- they have moved.
OK, everyone already knows skiing at Whistler is great. The mountain is huge, beautiful, and the runs are excellent. But after a couple of days on the mountain you might want a little break, or perhaps someone in your group isn't really into the ...
Pros: Remote wilderness, non-stop glaciers, snow conditions, vertical rise, great guides. Cons: Can be costly during height of the season, Feb/Mar.
Strapped into my seat, gripping a pair of gloves in one hand, I felt the helicopter lift off the pad. As we ascended into the air, even with 10 people on board, things were unusually quiet. The air inside was cool but humid from all of the breathing. As ...
Every year for the past seven years my family and I take a ten day trip to Whistler/Blackcomb. We were first alerted of the mountain's existence by a friend. He told us that it was absolutely amazing experience. He went on to say how the...

When I changed my job in the middle of February of '99, I had about a week to do some adventure travel. I decided to go skiing, and after reading some reviews I decided to go to Whistler, B.C. What can I say, it fulfilled every expectation I had of a...
Pros: Terrain, Fast Lifts, Exchange Rate Cons: Climate, Crowding
Whistler is one of the best ski destinations on the planet - huge mountains, lots of high-speed lifts, ample snow, a real base village, glacier skiing. The possibilities are endless. It simply dwarfs all US mountains except for maybe Vail or Mammoth....
Pros: Superfantastic early season skiing Cons: A little crowded in places
If you'd prefer to fight your way through cranky crowds at a hot, cramped, stanky shopping mall rather than fight your way through fresh powder at a beautiful, clean, crisp Canadian ski resort, then don't go to Whistler over Thanksgiving.
Pros: Beautiful fluffy snow, varied terrain, apres-ski, cost Cons: Can be crowded at very peak times, excellent lodging is pricey.
It was amazing how lucky we got when we showed up for Spring Break in Blackcomb village. There were 7 guys, from all over the US, coming together at the Woodrun condo, an awesome place that is ski-in ski-out to Blackcomb base. The condo itself, while...
Pros: beautiful location, excellent terrain for all skill levels Cons: none
Every word to describe this resort ends in "est": biggest, mostest (snow), longest (runs), and BEST. I was here for 5 days over Thanksgiving 1999. I'm now saving my money to visit again in 2001. In the meantime, I ski in the Northeast,...
Pros: Purity of environment Cons: Difficulty in getting through Vancouver traffic
We spent a long weekend at Whistler recently and I was shocked at how beautiful the area is, how nice the people are and how pristine British Columbia is generally. I admit that I am not much of a skier. In fact, I'm one of the worst skiers on the...
Pros: Holy Smokes what a huge place! Cons: Iffy Weather and Fog (so i am told)
I went to Whistler with no preconceived notions... I was going for a masters race, and decided to skip the Super G (equipment failure). This is not a review really.... It was a lesson confirmed on how to really see a mountain as exceptional as Whistler....
Pros: Beautiful new resort area, friendly folks, so much to do. Cons: Can be expensive, sun doesn't always shine.
We just returned from Whistler, BC. I can only describe the trip as extraordinary. The most scenic way to get there would have to be by rail (BC Rail of Canada) from North Vancouver. The three hour ride is spectacular, the train personnel are friendly,...

Pros: The most diverse ski experience anywhere. Incredible Cons: Tough haul for those living on the East Coast

If you are a true skier than you have been to Mt. Whistler. This is one of the best. People even have fun sledding here. I went last year and it was the best resort I have ever been to. There is this one hill called Deadmans Drop at the top of the...
Pros: Huge peaks, romantic, great nightlife Cons: can get expensive, so watch your budget
I first went to Whistler two years ago for a week long getaway with my wife, and we absolutely adore it. We loved it so much that we went back the next year, and plan to go back in the years to come. The skiing offers a wide variety of runs, for a wide...
Pros: Friendly, clean and vast skiing Cons: Flight is 8 hours ...
I ski in Europe every year but last year it was Whistler. The difference is chalk and cheese. Europe is crowded and full of rude french people pushing in everywhere.
Whistler was vast and there were no queues. When there was a queue it moved...
Don't get me wrong, Whistler is a fine ski resort. I'm just tired of it getting all the attention and crowds when there are some other excellent and less expensive options available. While those from the east coast may rant on and on about the snow at...
Last year my family took a trip to Whistler-Blackcomb. It was one of the best family trips I have ever taken. We stayed at Woodrun resort and condo. It was the most ideal place ever. It was a ski on ski off place. It was nice not having to deal with the...
Pros: SNOW SNOW SNOW Cons: Not enough time to do everything.
Man, I'm from the Northeast in the US so I'm used to lots of ice while skiing. But for a week in January I packed up my bags and headed out to Whistler/ Blackcomb for the first time. There is no way to describe the feeling of skiing off the top of...
Pros: Everything Cons: line ups can get long sometimes, but if your like me, I know where to go when they get bad :P suckers
I live in Vancouver and I am lucky enough to go skiing at Blackcomb every weekend! I've been to many other mountains and nothing else compares...The jump park is one of the best anywhere, with jumps for intermediate and expert skiers. New to this year...
I went on a trip to Whistler and Blackcomb about to years ago. When I got to the resort I stayed, I said to myself why is it so warm. I froze my can off in banff, and this is so warm. The reason for this is that I was so close to the ocean, but who...
I only skiied Whistler/Blackcomb once, but it was an extremely memorable experience. I have an avid skiier and have skiied many of the top U.S. resorts. Whistler, just north of Vancouver, B.C., was one of the most places I have ever visited. The...
Have been to Whistler many times. It comes down to this. If you live in either Washington or Oregon, whistler is probably a fun trip due to proximity otherwise head to the interior for some good ol fashioned DRY snow in the American or Canadian...
I made two trips to Whistler last year the first was in late January and the second in early march. The first trip was unbelievable, the day before i arrived it snowed 18 inches. Out of bounds skiing was untouched and knee to waist deep. Trails were skied out by the end of the day but still awesome to ski. The blackcomb glacier is definetly the best place to go to on the mountain. Long run and great snow! This is the biggest place in north america and is worth the trip. I will be going back this feb to get some more Whistler action!! The town is unlike any other ski town, a must see! Great night life and parties.
Pros: Best there is in skiing Cons: Are you kidding me?
Okay, so everyone has an opinion. This mountain is the bomb. Powder on whistler and groomed runs on Blackcomb. The food is excellent the women are...well...WOW! Everybody is so nice. Highly recommend it. If you are a skiier you must try this resort at least once in your life.
great to ski but can get packed on the lower slopes by dreamygamer ,Dec 04 '06
Pros: magical little village and friendly locals Cons: too busy at weekends and nowhere to dress up, abit studenty
Hotels: you have the whole range, the best is the four seasons.
Nightlife: very studenty, people dress down here so dont bring your best togs as you will feel let down
ski: extensive though can get icy and over busy on lower slopes at weekends
Pros: always something to do regardless of weather, fun and caring childcare, family friendly restaurants Cons: booking ANYTHING in the morning--get rentals and lessons organized the day before
Some days the kids went to ski school but it was nice to have the option for them to do any of the other activities in Whistler (ice skating, snowshoeing, swimming, indoor rock climbing etc etc). With so much for the children to do here we didn't feel the least bit guilty leaving the children with one of the babysitters from Alpine Babysitters...the kids couldn't wait for her to get there in the morning! It gave my husband and I time to reconnect and have some romantic alone time - great restaurant and night life.
Pros: Excellent cliffs, steeps, chute, park, Longhorn Tavern etc. Cons: Price, crowds, SUV families
As a freeskier, I was satisfied with Whistler/Blackcomb's rock drops of all sizes, narrow chutes, steeps, and an awe-inspiring relationship with a mountain. Little forethought is needed to find adequate freeskiing terrain... just a little creativity to see the what-for of skiing/riding. My favorite part of Whistler/Black was the steep trannies/runouts on cliff landings. When I was there, though, the snowcover was 50 inches, even though it was late December, and I was injured after falling on a rock. My buddies lost some chunks of snowboard base on rocks, too. The park wasn't bad, but it wasn't fully built that early in the season. Even so, the rails and boxes were in great shape.
