Pros: Good conditions, powdery, all levels
Cons: Expensive, Bundle up,
Breckenridge is a great family ski resort. Last January our family went to Breckenridge for 5 days and had an incredible time. It has skiing for all levels. The lines went quickly as there were many lifts to get you to all parts of the mountain. The...

Old World Charm & Great Skiing

by bemcgibbo , Dec 25 '99
Pros: Rich History, Nice skier amenities
Cons: Potentially pricey lift tickets
Breckenridge truly is a slice heaven. The town has an old world charm and unique family environment that few other ski areas in Colorado offer.
The rich mining history and the dedication to preserving that history make this a great vacation spot in...

Separate but Equal

by emgreen , Jan 23 '00
Pros: varied terrain, lots of advanced trails
Cons: narrow, crowded catwalks; difficult for people of different levels to ski together
The first thing you notice about the Breckenridge terrain is the way that it is divided. There are four different peaks, each served by its own lifts and connected by catwalks, which are often treacherous.

There are offerings to suit any...

Skiing Breckenridge

by sarahliz33 , Dec 21 '99
Pros: interchangeable tickets, free shuttles, great town
Cons: crowded, no night skiing
The view is awesome. In late November there was only a base of about 6 inches, but being from Michigan that's what I'm used to. The slopes were in great condition, but got sloppy around 2pm. You're pretty much done skiing there by 4pm because there are...

Mixed Emotions about Breckenridge

by wendfish , Jan 18 '01
Pros: Many runs & lifts, different size lifts help people get up the mountain quicker
Cons: Very crowded. Lift tickets are expensive, if you don't have a Buddy Pass.
The first time I went to Breckenridge was during Thanksgiving weekend, 2000. Unfortunately, so did most of the residents of Colorado! Only 24% of the trails were open due to the poor snowfall that had occurred before Thanksgiving, and given the number...

Pros: A real town with a history back to the 1800's. Skiing, Hiking, Biking, Sailing, Romance.
Cons: Traffic and parking are issues.
I was born in Breckenridge and live here full time with my family. I try to ski for two hours in the morning as often as I can, as it puts a smile on my face for the rest of the day. Having grown up here, I really had to go elsewhere in order to get some ...

Boringridge

by sbond , Sep 15 '00
Pros: Easy and Predictable
Cons: Easy and Predictable
It is BORING if you have advanced skills. The lifts start 1/4 mile further down the mountain than they should and end too early. Breckenridge is a fine place if you are a beginner or an intermediate. It is an EXCELLENT place if your kids are much better...

Pros: Denver Proximity, Excellent Ski School Instructors, Custom-made for family day trips
Cons: Needs a better restaurant, Expert areas need to be expanded.
Breckenridge is definitely a ski resort more geared toward families and students than the avid Adrenaline Junkie.
The slopes are well maintained, the Ski School is one of the top-rated in the country and the instructors are well known for their work...

Go and enjoy A++
by srb_england ,Apr 17 '07
Pros: Too many to mention
Cons: cant think of anything bad to say
Have just returned from Breckenridge after having spend 10 days skiing 4-14 April 07, great resort lots of character, more then enough runs to keep the average skiing family entertained for a week, there are plenty of runs that also kept my 15 year old action man son occupied and challenged, whilst we were there we had fresh snow on at least 7 days, loads of accommodation to choose from, the same applies to the selection of places to eat in the evenings, another great attraction is the opportunity to ski other resorts using the same lift pass and free shuttle buses. All in all highly recommend Breckenridge to anyone considering it for a skiing holiday.

The perfect mountain town!
by icfr15 ,Oct 25 '04
Pros: Actual town not a town built on a resort. History. Too many activities to list.
Cons: Some resturants can be expensive.
My family goes to Breckenridge quite often. Any time of year there is usually some king of festival or event that is fun for the whole family. The skiing is fantastic as long as you avoid the big holiday weekends, Presidents Day, etc... In the summer, it is difficult to decide what activity to do next because there is so much to do. Spring is good but the fall is georgeous. The weather is perfect in the fall an the colors are amazing. This is the perfect location for a great family getaway!

Breck review: from POWDERESCAPE.COM
by ccorrao ,Jan 27 '06
Pros: Perfect little town, diverse terrain, easy to get to. Now with some needed advanced terrain.
Cons: Crowded on the weekends, snowboarders beware of sneaky flats. WINDY!
Breckenridge might just be Colorado's perfect ski town. A picture perfect historic main street lined with beautifully preserved Victorian buildings, now transformed into a ski town with all of the amenities of a great resort. On the mountain is an intermediates dream. Long winding cruisers make up the majority of the mountain. This year Breck opened a new lift to the top of the mountain, the Imperial Express Super Chair - this is the highest chairlift in North America at 12,840 ft! This opens up 400 acres of expert and extreme terrain and adds over 900 feet of vertical. This is why Breckenridge literally has something for everyone, moving it up on our list to #8.
