Pros: Amazing terrain park and features. Freestyle jibbers and bonkers rejoice! Cons: Steep prices. Long ticket and lift lines. Super crowded trails. Ice. Out of control skiers/snowboarders.
Last Sunday (1/30/2005) was my 3rd trip to Mountain Creek this '04-'05 season...and it was a completely horrible experience. Let's start with the good, shall we? Not because I'm an optimist, but because I have too many bad things to write about. Let’ ...

Pros: Night skiing every day till 10pm, jumps on the South Peak Cons: can be very crowded on weekends; not exciting for advanced/expert skiers
After 8 years, last night (2/19/00) I finally returned to the place where I learned to ski. Back in 1992, the place was called Vernon Valley/Great Gorge, but a few years ago it was purchased by Intrawest (the parent company of such popular resorts as...

Pros: an extensive selection of trails Cons: can be crowded, particularly on weekends
Everything from bunny slopes to insanely dangerous courses for experts, less that 50 miles from Times Square. Great Gorge-Vernon Valley has it all. (It’s been renamed Mountain Creek, but I still think of it by the old name, so that's what I’ll call it in...

Pros: location, best in region Cons: price, crowded
I think this is a great place, but I'm only judging it within its own tier, which is Mid-Atlantic ski resorts. There is no contest between Mountain Creek and even the lowliest scrubhole of a ski resort in VT, let alone the Rockies, so it's a moot...

Pros: It is a hill, and it has snow Cons: your fellow snow goers lack experience too...
I have not been to Mountain Creek since the name change. However, when it was Vinnie Valley, I had the pleasure. If you are looking for information on the improvements, I cannot guide you. I am merely commenting on why we need them, and why I won't go...

Pros: pricey, crowded, maniac snowboarders Cons: great location, tons of snow, lots of slopes
Now I'm no skiier, I freely admit that. Having only skiied a few times previous, I was openly nervous about going down the slopes this winter vacation. Luckily, with a very patient boyfriend/teacher and some really great snow, we both managed to have a...

Pros: More bang for the buck! Close by, and has an excellent terrain park Cons: Small, compared to other resorts.
I’ve been to Mountain Creek twice this year already. I am an avid snowboarder and Mountain Creek really does a great job of catering to snowboarders. Although I live in upstate New York and there are mountains that are closer than Mountain Creek, I...

Pros: Great Jumps and Lots of Em Cons: Acationaly long lines to hit Certain Jumps
Mountain Creek is absolutly the best resort within 200 miles of New York for freestyle. Each of it's three peaks offer hits that will let you catch huge air. Especialy South Peak. Souths huge table tops let you get sweet air and still have a nice soft...

Pros: Great for all levels, from beginner to amazingly advanced. Cons: Oddly rated slopes, badly priced food, a bit crowded.
I am not a great skier. I have gone maybe 5 times in my entire life, and I am not very good. I went to Mountain Creek, and I had the time of my life. I went from 4:00 to 8:30, and it was a lot of fun.
There are many trails, ranging from...

Pros: The people and atmosphere Cons: The bunny hill could be bigger. Too many people, not enough room.
I have been to Mountain Creek twice so far. Last year i went for Valentine's Day. I stayed for 3 days/2 nights. I mostly ran the bunny hill at the north side. It was gorgeous there. All the workers were friendly and ready to give a hand to anyone...

Pros: Where else can you pay $52 to ski on icy man-made snow? Cons: Price, horrible traffic getting there, mostly young snowboarders.
There is a telling feature at the top of "South Peak" and that is the large trail map that shows the three "peaks" of this Intrawest resort. The elevations at the top of each peak are not show. The elevation is about 1400 feet above sea level, so ...

Pros: Night skiing, Large for this area Cons: Doesn't receive much snow, Too many people barreling down the mountain
Mountain Creek is the best ski resort in New Jersey (which isn't saying much because the only other place that I know of is Hidden Valley). Mountain Creek is fairly good sized with 4 peeks and quite a few trails for all experience levels. (The double...

Pros: Night skiing, cheap lift tickets, close to NYC, relatively easy terrain for beginners Cons: Terrain too easy, rude people, lack of snow, very crowded
This is not the best place in the world to ski if you're experienced. The terrain is rather boring for someone like me who is used to places like Killington. But, if you're a beginner, give this place a try. The terrain for beginners is relatively ...

Pros: Nicely groomed trails and good trail setup. Cons: Huge Crowds on weekends. Substandard parking area. Amenities are lacking. No child care. Skyhigh pricing.
I get a chance to ski here at least once a year. It is always an enjoyable trip as any day on snow is. This mountain is definitely geared towards the beginner and intermediate skier. The main lodge was destroyed a few years ago and everything is ...
