Pros: Huge snowfalls, amazing variety of terrain, and lift ticket prices that can't be beat! Cons: What a shame EVERY ski resort isn't as good
Summary: I love skiing more than just about any other winter activity, and no winter is complete to me without at least one great ski trip. I was just beginning to think that winter would pass me by without a ski trip this year when I finally managed to ... read more

Pros: Decent mountain terrain and snow; connection to Snowbird lifts Cons: Poor accommodations; extremely overpriced; poor upward mountain lift capacity; no apres ski at hotel
Summary: We visited Alta Ski Resort for Spring Break (3/6-3/10). We stayed at the Goldminer's Daughter at the base of the Collins lift. The hotel is extremely overpriced for the caliber of accommodation. We paid $350/nt. (incl. b&d) for a room which was ... read more

Pros: Varied terrain, atmosphere, snow, not crowded, skischool, accessibility, views, value. Cons: Barless lifts scare beginners, apres-ski activities.
Summary: Alta has been around a while, but it still is one of the best. It is one of the most well-rounded ski resorts out there. While it might not be fancy or modern, it has an enjoyable atmosphere that you must experience. It is very low-key and easy to manage ... read more

Pros: Great mogul skiing all the time, incredible powder Cons: Harder to get to than Park City or Deer Valley on a snow day.
Summary: Alta ski area is located at the top of little cottonwood canyon in the mountains above Salt Lake City, Utah. It is by far my favorite place to ski in this wide world (neighboring Snowbird is a very close second).

Pros: Powder snow, excellent terrain and cheap lift tix. Cons: Liftlines are sometimes long, but can be avoided by visiting on weekdays during peak season.
