Pros: Snow, challenging terrain, and lots of options when in full operation. Cons: Slow chairs, less than intuitive layout, exclusive employee and management team.
I learned to ski at Mt. Baker many years ago...and in all the years since, Mt. Baker's reputation has grown but little else has changed. I also worked at Mt. Baker for 2 seasons in the ticket office. And yes, I skied the World Record Snowfall season on ...

Pros: Unique terrain, good food, cheap lift tickets, snow snow snow Cons: Staff unfriendly and rude, no board park, halfpipe not carved well, hard to get back to base from some places
With everything I had heard about this resort, I had expected to be totally impressed. I had heard about their record snowfall the previous year, so I figured this place had to be snowboarding heaven. I heard about their halfpipe and their brand new...

Pros: Cheap tickets, great freeride experience, yummy chili, great place to lose yourself. Cons: Not a good place for beginners, expensive shop and rentals, staff isn't friendly.
I'm currently recovering from the trip... A day filled with fresh powder, old scary lifts, long trails to get lost on, and a small but splendid terrain park. Despite the bruised ribs, the trip was WELL worth it! I love mt baker for so many reasons, and...

Pros: tons of snow, good terrain, beautiful location Cons: old lifts, strange lift layout
Mt. Baker is a little area that rocks! Why? It's the snow! First, this place receives more snow than any other ski resort in the United States - over 600 inches in a typical year. That's more than Alta, Squaw Valley, Mammoth or Jackson Hole. In the...

Pros: short lift lines, deep, fresh powder, challenging terrain Cons: 2 1/2 hours from Seattle
After spending last weekend at Mt. Baker, I must admit, that it is one of my favorite ski areas in Washington state. 30 inches of new snow in less than 2 days, need I say more? The terrain is super extreme, with lots of trees, chutes, cornices, and deep,...

Pros: lots of snow, big terrain, beautiful views Cons: long drive, young punks
Having ridden Baker since 1995, I've liked it and hated it on different and same occasions. Baker has grown in popularity which is great for business and yet it has kept it's small local feel which is nice. No high speed quads been put in, no big...

Pros: deep snow, great people, it doesn't get any better Cons: the park and pipe, but they will learn soon
For all who are looking to ride, or ski, Mt. Baker is the place to be. Great food (bit expensive, but what mountain food isn't), great terrain, friendly people, NO LIFT LINES, and DEEP pow.
I ride every weekend, day off and holiday at Baker. I...

Pros: Awesome backcountry Cons: Massive avalanches in backcountry
There is only thing that can be said about Baker, incredible! This mountain has it all. The terrain is varied from the beginner to the most extreme. I think this is why this mountain draws all sorts of people including professionals, some call it home....

Pros: lots of days full of powder, a plethera of hits, and most of the time there arent too many people there. Also, out of bounds areas are the best if you want some real powder, but be careful!! Cons: the occasional warm day, which makes the snow suck. the occasional jerk that'll cut you off. Ice, just when snowfall has been limited.
What I have to say about Baker wont supprise anyone. Its the best place in Washington. The only drawback that I can think of is that there isnt any night boarding. If Baker had that, it would have it all in my book.
I have to agree, it has the best...

Pros: Lots of snow; uncrowded. Cons: Can be icy; could use faster lifts
I skied Mount Baker twice in 1991. The first visit was in January, and the mountain had been having a bad snow winter. The day before I arrived it had rained, so everything was coated with ice. There was enough snow to make the trip enjoyable though and...

Pros: Great Snow, Great Terrain, Great Mountain Cons: TOO MANY SNOWBOARDERS!!!
I have skied at Mt. Baker since I was two years old. After skiing at a place like this I don't know why you would want to ski any place else. The snow just keeps on getting better as the season goes on, even going into march and april. If you are a...

Pros: Everything Cons: Kinda far from Seattle
I started boarding at Stevens Pass but after several trips to Mt. Baker I have made it my home mountain. I have to drive an extra 45 min. but its worth it. The snow is a hundred times better with light fluffy stuff coming all the time. There are...

Pros: Record snow fall, never any lines Cons: No night skiing
I try to go to Mt Baker once or twice a year. I would like to go more but because of money I can't. Mt Baker is a beutiful mountain! It always has awesome snow. It did get record snow fall in 98/99 winter. Besides great snow, and great scenery, it has...
