I was fortunate enough to catch Dame Edna on Broadway. The tour has since moved on. I would highly recommend seeing this show if it comes to your town.
For those unfamiliar with Edna, she is a character brought to life by Barry Humphries....
Pros: Just as hilariously clueless a MEGAstar as ever! Cons: Don't sit too close to the stage, or you'll end up ONstage!
Do I care too much? Do I? I think sometimes I do, possums, I really do. Who else --- besides me and Dame Edna --- would care enough to actually ask you if you need a little help making ends meet? I mean, dear, why else would you be wearing THAT to an...
If you want to laugh, laugh and laugh, hop aboard the Dame Edna Express. Dame Edna is the creation of Australian Barry Humphries. And what a creation she is. A feast for eyes and ears.

I purchased tickets to the Dame Edna show as soon as I saw she was performing on Broadway!! I, of course was dismayed to drive past the TKTS booth on the way to the show and see the tickets posted there for 50% off. My dismay quickly vanished in a...
Pros: Funny, quick witted Cons: laugh so hard your face will hurt!
Dame Edna, what can you say? He, ummmm, she, ummm, whatever, it doesn't matter, is super funny! You have no idea what will happen next. Whether in the middle of a schtick, or a sentence, her attention will turn somewhere else, and find a funny. Every...
Pros: F-U-N-N-Y Cons: You may miss a word or two due to the uproarious laughter.
If you're not laughing within 60 seconds of the start of this show, your hearing aid needs new batteries. Don't worry though, Dame Edna will notice and she'll try to convey the jokes in sign language. If "Seinfeld" was the television program...
Thank GOD my tickets were free! by vitch ,Dec 27 '05
Pros: Not as long as I thought, thank god! Cons: Um... it was horrible?
This was easily the worst show I've ever seen. I'm suprised actually how many people enjoy this, because when I saw it live, there were people leaving in the rows in front of us. I could hear people talking about it after as we were walking out, saying how awful they thought it was. There were maybe one or two bits that involved the audience that were mildly funny. I'm guessing age probably plays a factor in the show as well. I'm 31 years old, and just don't really enjoy that type of humor I guess. I went with ten other people (none of whom enjoyed it) If you're a senior citizen you'll probably enjoy this show, If you're around my age, don't waste your money. I went into this knowing nothing about the performer, or ever hearing of him/ her whatever it is.
