Pros: Everyone will appreciate the subject matter in this one Cons: wish it was longer
Based on the title I assumed the show was all about how men and women try to change each other in relationships but it wasn't exactly that. It was more about how relationships are percieved by men and women but in a lighthearted manner. It displays the...
Something goes wrong half-way through "Seinfeld set to music." The first half is clever, funny junk about dating. Then, the shifting characters get married and...well, that's where the change comes in.
Pros: Hilarious, touching, and true to life Cons: Cons? What cons?
I woke up this morning with stomach pains. Why? Because I went to see I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change last night, and the show had me laughing almost non-stop! After seeing it once, I'm making plans to go again and again, because it was...
Pros: Witty, verbal humor!!! Cons: None, go see it!
This play is truly "Seinfeld set to music," as the advertising suggests! I saw it, actually, before it went to Broadway, at the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven. What a fun theatre experience!
Pros: very funny and clever Cons: none that matter
When I got to this small theater, i felt very out of place. Most of the audience was middle aged, with graying hair. Immediately I thought, maybe I won't enjoy this as much as I thought.
Was I wrong! Though most of the topics I Love You,...
Pros: Good Music, Great Acting, Lots of Laughs Cons: None
As a Valentine Day gift, I took my wife to see I Love You, You're Perfect Now Change. I thought it would be a cute little musical that touched on some areas of relationships, but little did I know that it would almost completely mirror every stage of...
Pros: very funny, keeps audience wanting more Cons: more could have been done with the set and cast
I love you, You're Perfect, Now Change has been called "Seinfeld set to lyrics". I wouldn't go so far as to agree with that. I do agree that it really was a very funny comedy, that pointed out things about people and relationships - the kinds...
Pros: Kimberly Ann Clark and Jordon Leeds, the musicians. Cons: The writing, the set, the blocking.
"I love you, your perfect, now change" is touted as "Seinfeld set to music" and as a musical revue about love and romance in the '90s. It sounds more promising than it turns out to be.
Pros: Short skits, singing and dancing Cons: A couples play, not really for young kids
This play is hysterical!! There are several short skits and some if it is singing and dancing while other parts of it offer excellent delivery of well-acted script material. I strongly recommend seeing it with your significant other since the subject...
Pros: The skit in which a couple are required by law to fulfill their sexual contracts. Cons: Everything else.
I've never wasted so much money at a theatrical performance!
The show consisted of a series of disjointed skits which lacked both humor and cleverness. I'm appalled that other reviewers found this "cutesiness" appealing!
The radio ads around here blasted that this show was a theatrical 'Seinfeld'. The creators of those ads should be sued for false advertising. 'Seinfeld' is a brilliant opus on flawed relationships and personal ineptitude, to which most of us develop a real empathy. The characters are real and identifiable, not to mention hilarious. The drek I saw last night had none of those qualities. With one exception, the writing was flat, and the lack of continuity between skits was distracting at best. The fact that the characters are named 'Man1', 'Woman1', etc., exemplifies the viewer's inability to identify with any of them. To add insult to injury, the musical score was anything but memorable.
I was checking my watch every five minutes through the first act, and left immediately after that act was over. Unless the producers changed writers and composers intermezzio, I could only envision more of the same in the second act.
After watching broadway musicals, I wanted to check out a play. Well, this was a musical but of a different genre (if I may) than Beauty and the Beast and the like. I was not disappointed.
The play depicts relationships between men and women while dating, marriage, after having kids, and old age. The cast of four did an excellent job of making the play so hilarious! I could relate to the dating and marriage aspect, but other aspects were equally hilarious. I highly recommend this play. It is as good as The Lion King (my favorite). My husband and I could not stop laughing. And yet there were touching scenes where a woman was disappointed with being in the dating game. Very very well done. There are some shows that awe you with the music, some with the beauty of sets or props (Lion King), and some with acting. This one falls in the acting category. A great way to spend an evening in NY.
I am calling tomorrow for tickets to see it again as soon as possible! by dalesmarny ,Apr 15 '04
Pros: Everything was enjoyable, entertaining, delightful, and funny and much more than I had expected! Cons: Cons? Nothing wrong anywhere, except that it had to end and had no encores!
I did NOT expect this to be such a delightfully funny and uplifting and adorable show!!!
The cast at the Old Town Theater in San Diego was awesome! Although not the original cast who opened the show here, they were the BEST, as far as *I* am concerned!
The facial expressions and the body language and the voices ... fabulous!!!!!
I didn't want the show to end!! And I'm sorry I didn't see it in NY, too.
