Pros: Great fun, enthusiastic performers Cons: food was unexciting, not really "high drama"
When my wife announced that she wanted to go to see Tony N Tina’s Wedding for her birthday, I was thrilled. Why? I’d been trying to get her to go to this play for years. I knew why she was holding out - her Italian heritage is so integral to her, ...
Pros: The Funniest Off-Broadway Show Cons: Tickets Were Slightly Pricey on New Years
New Years Eve...
There is always a question about what we are going to do. There are always house parties and nightclubs that we could attend, but this year we really wanted to do something different.
Pros: Great night out! Cons: Mediocre food for an Italian wedding!
It's a bit hard to describe what Tony and Tina's Wedding is. Their website calls it "a unique theaterical experience" and I guess that best describes what it is.
My wife and I were looking for something different to do in New York and...
Pros: good food, entertaining show. Cons: expensive, rude people.
A friend of mine once saw Tony and Tina’s wedding in New York and told me all about it on her return home. Which is why I was excited when it came to Las Vegas. My boyfriend bought us Tickets to the show for our anniversary one year and for all the hype ...
Pros: Humorous (not terribly funny), fast-paced, there is food. Cons: Overpriced, not terribly funny, crappy "theater", food is awful and bland.
My wife and I heard about Tony and Tina's wedding from my parents several years ago, and after their description, it sounded hysterically funny. Well, times have changed (and so has the cast, the plot, the theater...) and we thoroughly did not enjoy...
Pros: you will feel like you are a guest at a real wedding Cons: less of a plot than I had expected
I had a lot of fun at Tony N Tina's Wedding. Since I've only been to about two weddings in my life, one which occurred when I was 4, I got a kick out of attending a "virtual" wedding. If you go to weddings all the time maybe you won't feel...
Pros: lively cast, fun if you like to interact Cons: Crowded, noisy, cheap dinner
I had the misfortune of seeing Tony and Tina's Wedding tonight. Maybe I didn't "get it" but I found nothing entertaining about the show. For starters, their web site says the first part takes place at StLuke's church...it did not. The entire show ...
We had a girls' weekend out in Vancouver, BC and went to Tony n' Tina's Wedding. One of us girls had seen it before several years ago in a different location and just raved about it. We were all so excited to experience this well-known show. When ...
Pros: Tears of Laughter, A Play all could feel a part of, a time of togetherness Cons: Reception area was small so space was limited for amount of tickets sold
When we first visited New York City this was one play that caught my eye. After a couple of visits my husband and I decided it was time to attend our first off broadway play. Of course I twisted his arm hard enough and he gladly chose Tony and...
Pros: None Cons: Overpriced; Boring; Bad Food; Uninspired; Total lack of plot and compelling story or characters
Okay, to the six of us dropped $474 to see this turkey and we still walked away hungry. What I'm wondering is how anything this bad can last thirteen days on stage, let alone thirteen years. We saw the San Francisco staging on December 22, 2001 at the...
Pros: Upbeat, some good laughs. Cons: Not enough good laughs, given the meaty subject matter.
Tony N' Tina's Wedding is a spoof of an Italian wedding, complete with church ceremony and reception (including a dinner of baked ziti). The casting was, for the most part, excellent, particularly the groom's father and grandmother and the bride's...
Pros: You'll have fun & don't need to bring a gift! Cons: Not for those who just want to sit back & watch.
If you enjoy weddings as much as I do -- especially where you don't know anyone at the reception, so you can act any way you want -- you will love Tony N' Tina's Wedding. From the start as people enter the church, you will become part of this...
Before my wedding, I decided to treat my bridesmaids to a Broadway play. Since it was so fitting, we chose “Tony N Tina’s Wedding.” We weren’t sure what to expect but we haven’t laughed so hard in a long time.
Pros: funny, interactive, free meal, small champagne toast Cons: involves walking a block, drinks are a bit pricey
This was unlike any show I have ever seen in the past. It is totally interactive. The cast members make you feel like you are family. Shy people like myself may have difficulty having strangers dragging them to the dance floor. If you are this way...
I must say, when my cousins decided to go see this I was not so quick to go, but I went. I must say I was in no way disapointed. First you go to the church. When you arrive you are taken to your seat by a member of the wedding party, and he talks to you...
Pros: It is a talentless, overpriced performance with cheap food, and lousy music. Cons: bad play
It is a talentless, overpriced performance with cheap food, and lousy music.
The plot is revolving around Italian wedding, where you are becoming a guest of the family. In first 15-20 minutes you witness the church ceremony. Before an actual...
Pros: no pros Cons: crowded venue, show lacks story line (not at all entertaining), cheap cafeteria-style food
I was extremely disappointed by this show. There is little to no story line for this show. The actors in the NYC show also did not have microphones. The audience may see an argument between 2 actors, but not really know what is going on. Keep in mind ...
Pros: funny characters, funny storylines, fun interaction with the cast....all in good spirit Cons: Uncomfortable, hungry, thirsty, crammed and can't get "into" the show because of these reasons
My Fiance and I love to check out different types of theater and I thought this show would be a fun birthday present for him. We are also getting married this spring and thought it might give us a taste of what to expect from our nutty families. I ...
Pros: The Tina was voluptuous, sexy, and did great in her hot-but-quick dance sequence... Cons: I feel bad saying, most everything else.
The kids were nice and tried.
We saw the thing last night in Orlando. It was so bad, I don't believe these five star reviews--- I think they're plants. All due respect. Actually, I have to believe that some shows, in some places, on some nights, have to be entertaining--- but ...
Pros: Food was good. Cons: Bunch of sluts running around, Same stupid stuff every 5 min, No Plot, Dumb
This had to be the worst show I've ever seen. The first half hour is funny, but then it gets old really quick. the same stupid jokes are performed over and over again. For example, the old boyfriend walks in and causes a scene and gets kicked out......
Pros: Something different Cons: Overpriced, food was horrible and they just throw it on your plate.
I wanted this to be a special day for my mom's 50th birthday. We were seated like packed sardines, we had to stand to see what was going on and the food was disgusting. I spent so much money to have a good meal and to be thrown with pasta on the plate that smelled and tasted like rotten eggs, a kid can make it better, we would have enjoyed going to Mcdonalds better. It's fast paced, the cake wasn't even served on a plate, you had to pick it up with your hands, we took one bite and put it down it was that bad. Entemann's cake is way better. The appetizers and the other foods tasted like it was out for awhile. I would not recommend anyone to go unless they change the food and have better seating.
The Worst Show I Have Ever Seen by vegasbc ,Sep 28 '06
Pros: None Cons: Not funny, food terrible, room too small, chairs are uncomfortable, tickets expensive
I had seen Tony and Tina's Wedding in New York, many years ago, and I thought it was great. However, I just attended the Vegas show, and it is without a doubt the worst show I have ever seen. I was not the only one who felt this way, as I heard many people complain at the tables that surrounded me. First of all, the show is simply not funny. There was not one line that even made me crack a smile. The only thing that was more stale than their so called jokes, was the food that they served...it was awful! Also, the room that they use is way too small, as they cramp you into tiny uncomfortable chairs (my chair actually had a support beam behind it, which prevented me from pulling the chair out from the table....I had to actually climb over the chair to sit in it). To add insult to injury, the show is very expensive (almost $400 for 4 people)...this show is truly a disgrace, and we left about an hour into it....As a Vegas local, I was actually embarrassed for bringing my friends there who were visiting from another state.
The worst we've ever seen! by smdrilling ,Jan 14 '07
Pros: Provided an opportunity to mingle with other people. Cons: Too expensive for the quality of production!
Tony n' Tina's Wedding at the Rio in Las Vegas was by far the worst show that we have seen in the Entertainment Capital of the World for the price.
Since the cast did not have microphones, it was hard to hear, it was chaotic, not humorous, the food was mediocre, a small glass of champagne was included, and all of this for $87.
The cash bar was expensive as well as the pictures that were take upon entering.
We had fun dancing (for a short time) and interacting but the production was sleazy and chaotic. We were invited by some members of the cast to visit them at Animal Kingdom, a strip club on Industrial. We were also asked to leave by a large bouncer as we were still dining on wedding cake that was thrown on our table without plates and forks.
This T&T's production at best is worth $30-40, so don't waste your money like we did and pay full price. Even the locals charge with a discount is still too high at $58. You won't be laughing at them but swearing at yourself.
Pros: dinner was okay. thank god for the bar. Cons: just about everything...expensive drinks too, cash only.
This performance was a huge disappointment. It was like being at a freak show from the drunk, priest with awful body odor to the 8 foot tall bridesmaid to the rude bride insulting guests attire. We were seating at the worst table in this bingo-hall type room where the temperature was extremely warm...they ran out of champagne, so we were served white wine instead. After the wedding ceremony, everyone went in the men's room to smoke. I don't know what they were smoking but it smelled like marijuana, but I think it was all part of their act. I FELT LIKE I WAS AT THE CIRCUS. Didn't even stay for dessert if they had any. THIS PLAY WAS HORRIBLE...save your money for a Broadway show or nice dinner!
Tony & Tina's Wedding Philadelphia Save your $$$ by jaland ,Jan 02 '07
Pros: It was new years eve Cons: Lousy space provided by the Kimmel Center. Not worth the price of admission !!
Stuffed in a cramped space like sardines. The acting and plot are at a high school level. Crude and rude a true waste of time. Save your money for a real Broadway show !
Pros: Great actors, AWESOME food, more fun than watching horses poo Cons: Cash bar, not everyone "gets it".
This is our 3rd time seeing the Orlando show and I must say, it gets better and better each time. The old location across from Old Town was ok, but the new club is alot more fun. The food (which started out really bad) has now gotten to be incredible! They have even added a great, meat filled lasagna that was out of this world and some enormous garlic roles. The last time we attended, December 20th, they had munchies on the table before the ceremony, forks for the cake this time and a super fun crowd. The cast continues to be one of the finest group of actors in the area (way better than any of the horses in town haha).
I highly recommend you check it out (not so much for kids though). If you have seen it in the past, let them know, they gave us a couple bucks off for being "familia"
Tony and Tina's Wedding = Rip-off by superdoope5123 ,Jan 15 '07
Pros: None. Cons: Millions
It was the biggest scam ever run by the cheapest people ever.
This is the menu they say you will have:
The Dinner Buffet offers Chicken Cacciatore, pasta marinara, sausage, Caesar salad, vegetable medley, Italian bread, wedding cake, and a Champagne toast.
But, they failed to include any chicken in the chicken cacciatore, sausage, vegetable medley, and other additions other than the lettuce for the Caesar salad.
Despite charging 90 dollars for a ticket, they even decided to charge for soda and water!!!! How distushingly cheap!!!!!!
This was by the far the biggest rip-off of a show ever. I have been to a ton of other dinner theatres......like medieval times, al capone's in orlando, and murder mysteries. Tony and tina's was pathetic in comparison.
They can have the money that they stole......but with that money, I wonder if they can afford to buy their souls!!! Cheap scumbags!!!!
A good premise, poorly executed. We tried to figure out why this wasn't funny (and believe me it wasn't). Maybe it's because we live near NYC and we know the kind of people this portrays. Some of them might be in our own family. Anyway I wanted to ask the performers who interacted with us "When does it get funny?" It never did.
Spend the $80 per person to see a real show. We were stupid. We saw it at the Rio in las Vegas
Pros: Wedding was very funny Cons: Too much sexual and religious "humor
Saw this show on a Chicago weekend away with 3 other ladies. We read these reviews and were excited to see this show. The wedding portion was very funny and we enjoyed it. We also enjoyed the beginning of the reception. As the reception went on and the characters became more and more intoxicated, there were some moments and conversations with characters that some, including us, would find offensive. There is profanity, MUCH sexual humor, and we had quite a bit of contact with a very intoxicated Priest, who told some offensive, and what we considered to be almost sacreligious jokes, one about him having sex with a teenage daughter. We had read another review that said this is great entertainment for the whole family. It is not, it is adult entertainment and not for all persons. We were very disappointed.
What a waste of money - who actually wants to PAY to go to a wedding where you dont know anyone???? The food was the same you would get at a wedding (mediocre) and it was a total waste of my time and money. The actors are not mic'ed so it's impossible to hear anything and I couldn't figure out what was going on during the show. It really was horrible! It wasn't even remotely funny - I had more things go 'wrong' at my wedding!
Pros: It started on time, the actors seemed to enjoy what they were doing. Cons: Well, the whole thing was pretty bad. The food, the layout of the show.
We went to see Tony N' Tina's Wedding in Las Vegas this weekend. I had been looking forward to this for weeks. Well the premise sounds good but the reality was unexciting. First of all, the actors were not miked so it was difficult to hear what was being said. If you were not in the immediate area, you missed the jokes. The dancing area is in the middle, but not raised, so unless you're in the first row of dancers that surround the action, you can't see what's going on at all. The food was pretty bad. Salad, bread (cold, dried out garlic), cheese tortellini, lasagna and breaded chicken with tomato sauce. We received one glass of sub par champagne. I had heard there was to be cake, but we left after an hour; even though we had paid nearly $400 for the four of us, it wasn't worth staying. Avoid this show; better ways to spend your money.
This was a very disappointing show. We had heard good reviews for the show in NYC and decided to see the show on our visit to Chicago. The acting was very poor and the food was the same. Please do not waste your money on this show in Chicago!
Pros: gay brother, food Cons: money, filth mouths, chaos, poorly entertained, not so funny unless wasted.
This show was about the worst I have ever seen. If you want to just throw your money out the window, go right ahead, its worth more than going to see this. First off the drinks are $6 or so in little glasses, then the language and filth that comes out of these actors mouth is repulsive. During the show it is so chaotic and crazy you have no idea what is going on or who to watch. There is hardly any time to actually get involved and dance. The best thing about the show is the gay brother of Tina's dancing. Not worth it, especially one if you want to drink, two if you get offended by horrible language, and lastly if you just don't want to see an bad show.
After reading some of the negative reviews I was expecting the worst. I was completely blown away by this. Wife and I had a great time. The key is to not be shy. Let loose and have fun. The more you interact the more the characters tend to bring the show to you. I saw this at the Rio in Las Vegas and can't wait to see it again.
Pros: can't think of any Cons: the cheap set, bad food, poor storyline, high cost
Needless to say, I am angry at how I threw my money and time away. I had gone to see KA at MGM the night before and I was awed by the show. Tony 'n' Tina's wedding was a rude awakening. The cheap set was the first insult. The show itself has very little story line that was played out for longer than necessary, and the food was not fit for dogs. In fact, it seems like only the actors had any fun at the expense of the audience. In the end I felt like I was conned into spending my money for a show that left me with only bad memories.
IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A GOOD TIME IN LAS VEGAS AVOID THIS SHOW OR YOUR VACATION GOES DOWNHILL FROM THEN ON.
Pros: Leaving Cons: Bad food, bad acting, bad music, icky venue
Tony 'N' Tina's Wedding was the absolute the worst production I have ever endured.
The acting was terrible, with some of the actors bordering on gross and they all told the exact same stupid jokes. The music was awful; I know the concept is for the band to be a lame New Jersey wedding band but these guys were worse than lame. The establishment (Sofia's in NYC) was dirty and the food was so bad it would have been turned away from a soup kitchen.
Save yourself - there are a lot better ways to spend $87 in New York that on this awful show. As an aside, $87 does not get you so much as a class of tap water to drink. Little bottles of Poland Spring go for $3 and Bud Light for $5.
Pros: -- ???? Cons: - crammed into a basement - a gathering of local bachlorette parties
I previously saw Tony and Tina's Wedding production in Minneapolis twice before going to NYC and excited to see it again. I was very disappointed at their production --- it was less than professional and not worth the time or money.
In Minneapolis the production began "upstairs" in the setting of a chapel. When the wedding ceremony had concluded, the "congregation" (audience) was escorted to the spacious "basement" for the musical reception and seated around tables "family style". In NYC we were packed into the basement and seated by long tables from which we never moved throughout the performance.
It basically ended up being a gathering spot for several groups of bachlorette parties to celebrate rather than a musical production. The vocal music consisted of basically one person throughout the whole musical.
We saw 4 musical productions in 5 days during our stay in NYC. The other 3 productions were much more worthwhile.
