I went to Brazil in Sept 2008. It was the first time we went to Brazil and what a great way to start the trip by taking TAM, Brazil's airline. Our flights were from NY to Sao Paulo then Rio de Janiero to NY. Notorious for ...

Air travel within Brazil always reminds me of horror stories of huge unjustified delays and rude treatment by arrogant flight attendants. Fortunately, TAM seems to be the exception in a market that still has a long way to go when it comes to customer...

TAM over 2006 Christmas seasons: a complete disaster by nogueira ,Jan 10 '07
Pros: We flew TAM in the past with reasonably good service. Cons: Flights cancelled or delayed, safety violations, luggage lost, rude staff.
Our family flew TAM to Brazil over the 2006/2007 Christmas/New Year season. It was a complete disaster. Our flights were badly delayed or missed, the TAM booths in Brazil were in complete disarray, nobody knew anything. We saw long lines (I mean really really long), lots of other folks lost their international connections, some with small children like us. The seat belt on my seat was broken, the overhead light also broken. In Brazil, our children were placed in the exit rows, against the law. We went along with it, because the alternative was not to travel and stay stuck where we were. The staff, with a few exceptions, was rude and inconsiderate. Part of our luggage was lost. TAM is under investigation by the Brazilian government for massive overbooking and other irregularities which caused major chaos among travellers.
