Opt for the Insurance
by lvanvoorhis ,Nov 14 '07
Pros: Friendly Service Cons: This is a fraudulent organization.
I rented a car and drove straight from one location to another. I didn't pay much attention to the vehicle inspection, which turned out to be a huge mistake. When I turned the car in they said that there was a small dent on the door and charged my $351.00 for it, including a $50 processing fee. I tried to fight it but they wore me down. I'll never rent from them again, though if I ever had to, I would definitely opt for the insurance.

Avoid this company
by huohuo2000 ,May 22 '08
Pros: None Cons: Overcharged
I went to Enterprise for they were having a discount for the Ohio State University employee. I picked up the car on Saturday, Mar 22, 2008. I returned the car on Monday, Mar 24, 2008 at 11:50pm. I parked the car in the parking lot in front of Enterprise office and put the key in the drawer like I was told to do.
Some days later I found a $358.71 charge was posted to my credit card. When I called Enterprise and talked to the guy from whom I got car, he told me the car was returned on March 28 and to this date has not been willing to only charge the $150.00 that is suppose to be charged. I showed him a gas receipt before I returned the car near my home but got nothing.

I'll rent again
by thatgirlagain ,Oct 03 '04
Pros: $11.99/day; upgraded to a spanking new PT Cruiser Cons: Long wait at the car rental facility
I booked a compact car for $11.99/day from the Phoenix Airport location. The in-airport Enterprise counter was the only counter with customers. The shuttle to the off-airport site was prompt and quick. Unfortunately, when I got to the lot, there were about 20 people standing around, waiting for their cars. Apparently, Enterprise didn't have enough cars available. Understandably, people were pretty mad. I was on vacation and wasn't in a hurry so no big deal for me. The wait at the facility was about 30 minutes. That's forever in car-rental terms, but as I was escorted to a brand new (only 250 miles, no kidding) PT Cruiser, I was more than happy. Obviously, the car was in spanking new condition. And for $11.99/day, I was one happy camper.

Enterprise saved our trip
by rugby209 ,Aug 24 '05
Pros: Very friendly and great service Cons: A little more pricey than ACE but you get what you pay for
We initially rented our car from a place called ACE rent a car. That was a nightmare and if the company were on this site I would write all about that experience. After 2 hours at the airport we went to the area where they have car rental agents and the only one sitting there was enterprise. We went up and she was very polite. The shuttle picked us up and we didnt have to wait in line because we reserved the car at the airport terminal. I told them what had happened and they gave me a free upgrade.

Enterprise False Damage Claims against Renters
by epinoncourse ,Mar 11 '07
Pros: I have learned the the hard way. Beware! Cons: I won't rent from them again, had to get a lawyer too!
Enterprise Falsely claimed damages on vehicles (several) that I have rented. But I did not damage them!
Never accept a dirty vehicle, it may hide damage.
Always be certain to have all existing damage written down, clearly, if they don't write it you may pay for it after the rental, no matter how nice they seem to be, or fluff it off claiming that they do not worry about that small stuff, or they consider normal wear and tear etc.
If you should get blamed for damage you didn't do, or have paid in the past for damage not done by you, but were railroaded into being the fall guy who paid for it, or feel you are being set-up or were set-up in the past then go the the link below: Office of the Attorney General Consumer Fraud, Complaint Form.

Double check you credit card statement
by flgeri ,Jul 14 '06
Pros: Past Rentals Cons: Customer service terrible
I have rented vehicles with Enterprise many times and have never had the problem my daughter is having with them. She rented a vehicle for 1 night last week while her car was being repaired. She received the rental at 5 PM and returned it 7:30 AM the next morning. She told them her insurance covered the rental (which it does) and they still charged her for insurance. Yesterday she received her credit card statement for a 6 night rental. She has called several times and spoken with a manager. She has offered to bring the receipt showing the car was returned the next day but they are stalling. No solution in sight outside of complaining to the credit card company.

Didn't honor my reservation
by tawlibann ,Oct 06 '07
Pros: Unreliable! The customer service of this company is befitting that of a third-world country's bureaucracy. Cons: If they can't keep reservations, I wouldn't have any expectations for much else.
I made a reservation for Saturday (10/06) and when I showed up they said they had no cars left, that the reservation was worthless, and I should have known that it was a busy weekend and that things like that could happen. I'm speechless!
They messed up all my travel plans for the weekend as there is nothing else open and all other rental agencies are sold out. If I had known I would've made a reservation with another company or prepaid and rented in advance through Hotwire.
This company is completely unreliable. Avoid it like the plague if you don't want your holiday ruined!

Left Stranded
by cureautism ,Sep 06 '09
Pros: None. Cons: Poor customer service.Unreliable cars.
Our Enterprise Full-sized rental car had mechanical problems,we were able to barely coast into a service station. After this our troubles began. It was at night on a holiday week-end.the only location opened was the airport. The customer service rep.told us to take a taxi to the airport 45 min. away, which we were to pay for and then upon return of the car we would be reimbursed.Well,it turned out that they did not have any cars available until the next day.We had to get ourselves home, all of our luggage including 2 car seats. The customer service reps. were rude, unsympathetic and certainly not helpful.I would not recommend Enterprise rental cars at all. They towed the car and then just left us literally in the dark.

If lost then gone
by rkinhyd ,Jun 02 '09
Pros: They are worst. No Pros. Cons: Plenty of cons.
I have returned the enterprise rental car at Lankershim blvd, north Hollywood, LA on 29-May-09 at 12PM. I have forgotten to pick GPS and perfume from the dashboard. Went back after 2 hours and its no more. This is ridiculous. I see the car at their location but GPS which costs $250 is missing.
I thought they are professionals but thieves. I never expected this.

wouldn't recommend Enterprise for car rental
by preciousp14 ,May 13 '09
Pros: Good friendly service Cons: complete rip-off
I live in Fayetteville NC. I wouldn't recommend going through Enterprise for car rentals in this area. I had to get my car fixed and wasn't sure how long it would take, so I rented a car for a day. Luckily the tire came for my car the same day, so there was no need for the rental. I only drove the rental car for 6 miles. When I returned it they wouldn't give me an hourly rate or anything lowering my rate. I paid for the full 24 hours and only had the car for about an hour and a half. I paid $62 to drive the car for an hour. I highly recommend going elsewhere.

Unauthorised credit card charge
by mrscott1 ,Oct 17 '09
Pros: I won't be using these imbeciles again,so thatll save me money. Cons: They are imbeciles.
So I was fined (erroneously, I might add) by London (UK) for a congestion charge that I infact paid. Enterprise mailed me (in the USA) informing me of the charge, and I had a week from receipt of mail to contact them regarding this. However, 5 days before getting the letter they charged my credit card for the amount.

great service for a change
by knowwhat ,Dec 01 '08
Pros: great service Cons: none
I used the Enterprise car rental in Newark NJ (near the airport) last week. The guy working the counter who checked me in, walked me to the car, helped me put my suitcase in, showed me how to adjust the seats and mirrors and use the windows, lights, wipers, etc. I have never had this kind of service at a rental car before, and it was the lowest priced too! Every other rental company I've used acts like I'm a big pain in the neck if I ask them to show me how to use the headlights, etc; I've wandered around in the parking lot looking for which car is supposed to be mine, and I've never had anyone lift a finger before when they see a petite, middle-aged woman (me) struggling to get a huge suitcase into the trunk. I will definitely be going back to Enterprise for all my rental car needs.

Enterprise - Incompetent or Intentional Liars?
by ntallent1 ,Feb 09 '09
Pros: Friendly service, availability Cons: Misquoated rate, Lost Car, Charged me for their mistake
I would suggest using ANY other car rental service. Enterprise has some serious flaws with their rental company. Perhaps they are not connected nationally as expected.
