Pros: Dont miss the film or a delicious treat from the Bakery Cons: Not really France
When I was invited to this write/off in honor of Susie-34668, Maggsmomm and MumMumMum, I wasnt sure just what I would write about or how I was going to go about writing it to begin with all three of these writers are celebrating the ...
Pros: Great food, fun & romantic atmosphere Cons: Children may not be too interested
Epcot to many people is t

big golf ball thingy. To me, it’s all about the World Showcase. The World Showcase is, essentially, mini representations of different countries from around the world. Including a ...
Pros: Bistro De Paris is the most amazing restaurant in Disney, and the movie is excellent Cons: Not very child-oriented
The best part about the France pavilion at EPCOT Center is that it is so well-balanced and has a little something for everyone. First off, France features one of only three movies throughout the International pavilions (the others being in China and ...
Pros: Top-notch service, nice selection, terrific ambience, beautiful landscaping and buildings, great shopping Cons: High prices at Chefs de France and uneven quality, shopping can get expensive
On May 31, 2005, our family of four (me, my husband, and two teenage daughters) had lunch at Chefs de France in EPCOT's World Showcase. It was a very rainy day (the entire park seemed to be floating with ponchos), and as soon as we arrived for ...
Pros: The movie is pretty awesome Cons: Only the movie is memorable
The least memorable part of Epcot France is the combination gift shop and snack bar. The gift shop sells souvenirs - this particular one has rather cheesy replica's of many French things. In the same room are some tables and a snack bar, if you sit at...
Pros: It was in Epcot. Cons: Service was awful. Food was not even French and was poor.
Being both a frequent visitor to Epcot as well as to Paris, France (the real one...not at the World Showcase), I can honestly say I was not the least bit impressed with the Bistro. Where should I begin?Because the Bistro wanted to ...
Pros: Delightful gift shop and short film. Cons: Crowded pastry shop.
As a lover of French language and culture, and having visited France, I was really looking forward to visiting this area of Epcot again, now that I was an adult. My husband and I had breezed through the various "nations" at Epcot a few...
Pros: Great food, nice film Cons: Restaurant is a bit expensive and can be crowded
Although it doesn't come close to the atmosphere in the actual city of Paris, this pavillion in Epcot's World Showcase does hint at what it's like to be in France. The movie is wonderful, with beautiful scenery.
Pros: ambiance, stores, food, visuals Cons: none unless you hate France
I do not consider myself a Francofile, but in the context of all the Epcot
'Nations' this one probably has the most to offer. Obviously, seeing them all is the whole idea, but I found that on second and third visits, we were making a bee-line...
Pros: Spectacular movie Cons: Unappealing menu - limited selections
The France country section at Epcot is an OK stop as you go through the back of the park. They did a good job in attempting to recreate a small section of France while not including the most unappealing elements -- the arrogance of most of the people,...

Pros: mimes, movie Cons: no vegetarian options at restaurant with protein
We arrived at France to check out the restaurant as we were getting pretty desperate at this point to find vegetarian options. The menu listed a couple, but they were short on protein and we needed all we could get to put up with the agony of visiting the park.
Just outside the restaurant there were a couple of mimes performing a balancing act on chairs that was superb. We also watched the movie about France. It isn't in 360 degrees, but it is close to about 180 degrees. It was interesting to see, but I think I would prefer to actually just visit.
Overall, France was okay, but it suffered from the same thing all of the countries in the World Showcase suffer from: diminution. The impression given by the World Showcase is that a bunch of wealthy people went to the countries presented, found a few notable elements of the cultures, and brought them back for all the poor people who will never be able to afford to go to these countries. I find that demeaning.
I will not mince words. . .I am pretty critical when it comes to fine dining. I blame it on my Dad.
Chefs de France is easily in the top three restaurants I have EVER eaten at.
First off, Epcot is awesome for the sole reason that they find employees from the native country to work, so when you go to Norway, Norwegians work there. Same with France.
It was like eating in France. I mean it. My wife visited France for a while and confirmed it. The staff were all native Frenchmen and women. The ambiance, food, and service were impeccable.
Let's put it this way. Our dining plan included tips, and we still tipped the guy (overall, a 40% tip) and I thought it was well worth it.
Let me mention that we had our three year old daughter there and they treated her great. Hey, hot baguettes get most people's attention.
The books say this restaurant is run by three of the most prominent restaurant owners in France, and they come visit off and on.
