Pros: Cool room, fun music, creative animatronics Cons: Iago (aka headache inducing parrot) could be done without
I have heard a lot about the Enchanted Tiki Room at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, but I have never actually experienced it for myself, having passed by it many times. Full of differences in opinion, apparently this attraction has ...
Pros: THE bizarro attraction at the Magic Kingdom. Highly underrated. Cons: Takes a sense of calm to appreciate.
Simplistic innocence takes on many forms across Walt Disney World. For example, who'd have thought that water + log boat + gravity would equal such a great ride as Splash Mountain ? Take a rather mundane roller coaster, enclose it and turn out...
Pros: Great show, no line and air conditioned Cons: none
Oh my aching feet!
Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida sure it a lot of fun, but it’s killer on the feet. My kids and I visit Florida every summer. My family lives here and it gives us a chance to see them, as well as find some fun in the...
Pros: You can sit down in an air conditioned room. Cons: The attempt to make a classic hip and cool utterly failed.
In an effort to revitalize a classic, Disney decided to update The Enchanted Tiki Room. When it reopened, it added the subtitle Under New Management. They completely changed the show and included Iago from Aladdin and ...
Pros: Iago and Zazu are familiar characters, air conditioned Cons: not as good as the older version of this show
The Enchanted Tiki Room, Under New Management, is a show that lasts about 15 minutes. We saw the older version in 1996 and, personally, I liked the older version better. There was more singing and more fun to the older show, in my opinion. ...
Pros: The left one original song. Cons: The rest of the show
I was mad when Disney got rid of Mr. Toads Wild Ride, and I was angry when they retired 20,000 leagues under the Sea, But I just could not believe what they did to the The Enchanted Tiki Room.
They ruined it. The old show was so charming. It was one...
Pros: rarely has waits, hints of a good show, wide variety of musical styles Cons: no good seats, Iago horrid and grating, odd light effects
I never saw the original incarnation of the Enchanted Tiki Room. By the time I made my first visit to Disney World, the place was already "under new management" and an odd hybrid show attempting to mix the traditional with the new and hip. While I can ...
Pros: no line, air conditioned Cons: they ruined the show!
When I heard that Disney had redone The Enchanted Tiki Room, it never dawned on me that they would ruin it. I’d loved those singing flowers and chanting totems, where else on earth could you sit underneath dozens of birds without worrying...
Pros: the original birds, the songs Cons: the tiki god/dess
I read many of the other opinions on this attraction and felt a need to defend it. I was a disciple of the old show and am still a fan after the "new management."
First let me tell you about my experiences with the old show. The first time I...
Pros: It's over! Some of the birds are still fun. Would be fine for adults or older children. Cons: Scary for little ones.
[Please see new revision at end of review].
We just visited The Magic Kingdom last weekend, for the first time in over seven years for me! This is the first time our children (ages 3 & 7), have ever been.
Pros: Entertaining for small kids Cons: Nothing like the old Tiki room!
Introduction
I was very excited to see the enchanted Tiki room. I had bought the Disney CD Collection, and the Tiki room song was one of my favorites. I knew almost the entire thing by heart, and was ready to see it paired with...
Pros: Upbeat; Colorful Cons: Limited appeal; People who haven't seen the original won't get the joke
Until I saw this ride I never thought that Disney was capable of such self-satire. The Enchanted Tiki Room had been playing the same show for almost thirty years before they decided it wasn't marketable enough to take up so much space. Consequently, they...
Pros: Entertaining show that made me laugh and smile Cons: Some people find it boring :-(
The Enchanted Tiki Room is "Under New Management" at WDW. With the addition of Iago (from Aladdin) and Zazu (from the Lion King) as the managers of the Tiki Room, this attraction now incorporates the past show with a newer version that has been...
I seem to currently hold the minority opinion here at Epinions about this attraction, but I greatly enjoyed the Tiki Room. The voices, music and jokes were updated and funny. Gilbert Godfrey was one of the main bird voices and he was hysterical as...
Pros: robotic bird show, alittle cute Cons: corny, old show
Enchanted Tiki Room is a a corny show at Magic Kingdom. This is a collection of more than 200 birds that tell wisecracks. They are automated birds, with wings flapping, singing flowers, totem poles and statues. The hosts of the show are Jose, Michael,...
I don't even want to put a "One" on this! They RUINED Walt's old show.
Now, during our beloved classic song, Iago comes down from the cieling with a giant mega-phone saying 'STOP THE MUSIC'! Then sings a song, TOTALLY MAKING FUN OF WALT'S...
Pros: Indoors, great place to wait out a short storm, funny Cons: the preshow + the show can take a chunk of time
The Enchanted Tiki Room was not on my list of favorite Magic Kingdom Attractions until recently. You see, I was under the mistaken impression it was a restaurant with a show. I have no idea why I thought that! I just did.
Pros: Great entertainment for whole family Cons: Show was fairly short - could have been a little longer.
We traveled to Orlando, Florida this past September for the first time ever with our three children, ages 10, 3 and 3 (yes they are twins)! Having never been to Disney World myself, I had no expectations whatsoever for any of the rides, shows, meals, ...
Pros: For 3 and under! Cons: Sad Day For Tiki Room Lovers!
Hi: Once again we come up against the ultimate in "why change a good thing?"
We are confronted with the perfect example of "when its not broken, don't fix it."
The Tiki room used to be a great place to go and relax from the...
Pros: you can sit down in the shade Cons: show is awful and not entertaining or fun
The Imagineers who did this should be shot. Iago yacks all the way through this, no music is ever really played, and the humor is lacking. The original tiki room was great for many reasons; among them, it's hot and sitting down in air conditioning is...
Yes it's true folks the oldest and personally my favorite anamatronic in Disney has been violated. What's worse is that this destruction was done in the name of progress.
In order to modernize the Tiki Room, Disney designers have changed the...
Pros: Cute, sit down show, delights children Cons: Older children might be bored
The Enchanted Tiki Room is a tradition at the Magic Kingdom. My mother talks about seeing the show as a child. And it still exists, though it is now "Under New Management."
For those of you who are still "Disney Virgins,"...
Florida's new twist on the old classic Tiki Room is welcome. However the show, much like the truncated show in Disneyland (where they removed the "Offenbach" jokes and one song) seems too short.
Pros: Relaxing stop from a hectic day Cons: Adults can be bored easily
This ride or excuse me, show is really for kids. Yes adults may like it also, but it is nothing exciting for the older people. If you are however a fan of Aladdin or The Lion King, well who isn't? Then this attraction is worth seeing. It is actually...
Pros: hiistoric Cons: no surprises after first viewing
The Enchanted Tiki room is no longer the major audio-animatroninc attraction that is was 20 years or so ago. That is because the art has become much more sophisticated. The birds and their supporting cast still give the impression of being alive, but...
Pros: Some of the original aspects have stayed, colorful, same great audio animatronics Cons: The addition of newer Disney characters such as Iago and Zazu
I have been visiting the Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom since I was two years old and one of my favorite attractions has always been the Enchanted Tiki Room. As a child, I found the show to be fantastic- with all the colors and the magical,...
We thought this would be a nice, tame show for our 2-year old daughter. The fact that it's air conditioned didn't hurt -- after all, it was June! It was the absolute worst 30 minutes of our whole trip -- it's 30 minutes of my life I wish I could have...
Iago and Zazo bring down the huse with the tiki gods. A mut see for all ages. The beauty of the birdsand the musical show will entertain you beyond your belief.
Iago will bring a little comedy to the show as he tries to not worry aout the tiki gods...
Pros: New music and lots of action Cons: Not too great for adults more for kiddy crowd
Well I guess I am in the minority here. I LOVED this attraction now that they have redone it!! The first time My husband and I had been to it(in 1997) we sat there and about 15 people got up and left it because it was boring. THe last time we were there...
Pros: Bright colored birds and flowers, Air Conditioned Cons: New show can sometimes be scary to preschoolers
The changes made to the Tiki Room were a little disappointing to my husband and I. We had both really enjoyed the old Tiki Room. We took our preschool-aged sons to the new one expecting to watch a cute show while refreshing ourselves in the air...
Pros: The show is shorter now, should one make the mistake of waiting to see it. Cons: Original dramatic structure and charm are lost in chaos and rudeness.
Many reviewers here and elsewhere have noted how Disney has ruined the Enchanted Tiki Room. I just returned from WDW after a 15 year gap, and I must sadly add my lament. Certainly, the Room needed an update. Few of us really want to be urged to sing ...
Blasphemy and Sacrilege in the name of cross marketing by ixtapavangogh ,Mar 19 '07
Pros: What it once was, and could be again. Cons: Where do I begin? Embarrassingly bad, loud, witless, and headache-inducing.
I agree with every negative opinion expressed here. Disney butchered a once-charming classic attraction. How the Imagineers could have so completely underestimated--and misunderstood--the appeal of this Disney original is beyond me...but then again, the redesign seems like it was cooked up in the marketing department anyway, because only a greedy moron with a tin ear would cast Gilbert Gottfried (Iago) as a SINGING STAR. I looked forward to passing the Tiki Room's charms along to my son. Now I'm just ashamed. It needs to be restored to its original glory. Hey, Disney brass--the people will still come to the park for the good stuff, and they'll pass it along to their kids. Stop trying so hard to be "current"! Don't you get it? New attractions are fine, but the old ones--the GOOD old ones--are your legacy. Remember the Main Street Electrical Parade? People are STILL talking about how you screwed that up too. Wise up! It's not too late! You fixed Country Bear Jamboree; you can fix the Tiki Room!
