Pros: Reasonably priced, clean surroundings Cons: Personal trainers! Ugh!
I quit smoking a couple of months ago, and had mentioned in passing to my husband how I'd like to join a health club. The combination of quitting smoking and bearing four children has done quite a number on my physique, I'm afraid. While meandering our...

Pros: Open 24 Hours a day, as the name states. Cons: Crowded, with lots of socializers tying up the machines.
I chose to join the Larkspur branch (in Marin County, California) of 24 Hour Fitness over the half dozen or so other gyms in my area primarily due to the fact that it is open 24 hours a day, just like the name implies. I paid for two years, and got a...

Pros: Many locations, clean, lots of machines Cons: High pressure sales, no service unless you pay extra, poor support from general on-duty staff, weird abs machines
My partner and I were on a weight loss program. Weight Watchers. This is a very reasonable program by a well-respected outfit. But part two of our quest to lose weight was the exercise part. We needed to join a gym.
We walked in to 24-Hour...

Pros: Good equiptment, lots of amenities Cons: Sales people, misleading name, cost
24 Hour Fitnees is quite possibly the most well-known of the gym-chains. They have 117 branches in America and even some in other parts of the world. The convenience of having so many gyms is one of 24 Hour Fitness' main selling points; if you are on a...

Pros: Relatively cheap, open 24hrs, variety of classes, good instructors Cons: can get crowded, not always very clean
I have had memberships to many gyms of all types, highscale, low scale, and then theres 24 hour fitness. 24 Hour Fitness if your middle ground. Its not upscale like healthworks and other posh gyms/country clubs, but its not rundown and made for jocks...

Pros: Price Cons: unhelpful staff, cleanliness
I had been shopping around for a gym when I poked my head into 24 hour Fitness. I was instantly whisked away to a sales rep who proceeded to enlighten me on all of the great qualities of the club and why its a perfect match for me. I felt like I was on...

Pros: Flexible kid's club hours Cons: Crowded at peak times
We joined 24-hour fitness over a year ago after reviewing several clubs. We had a membership with another big named club and were not impressed. Our main reasons for joining 24-hour was they have several centers around the Denver area that were closer to...

Pros: Trainer went through machines thoroughly. Everything is very clean. Cons: They do sales pitches on a regular basis. I wasn't told anything about classes.
Well, I have had my first workout experience at 24 Hour Fitness. Overall, it was a wonderful experience although my muscles may say differently in the morning!
The Good

Pros: classes, price, selection of machines Cons: hours, hard to cancel if need to
I belonged to this gym for about a year and a half. I had to cancel my membership when I moved out of state, and there were no 24 Hour Fitness gyms in my area. I'm sorry I had to give up my membership because I miss a number of features of the gym. ...

Pros: 24 hours during week Cons: closes early on weekends
I just joined 24 hour fitness about 2 months ago. I received two sessions with their personal trainer and I must say I learned a lot. Since the time I joined I have gotten a few of my friends to join as well.
I have been going quite often...

Pros: Cheap and you get lots of things to do Cons: Grungy facility, poor parking
When I joined my north Spokane gym 3 years ago it was run by another company. I was impressed with cleanliness, a good price and little things like the hand lotion dispenser and a hair dryer in the changing room.
The day I signed up I went home and...

Pros: Variety in classes, convenient locations Cons: Can get crowded, trainers not very inspirational
I have been a member of 24 Hour Fitness (formerly Family Fitness Center) for over five years now. This was the first athletic club I had ever joined because it was very affordable. When I started my new job, I had 30 days to take advantage of an offer...
