Pros: Many locations, clean, lots of machines Cons: High pressure sales, no service unless you pay extra, poor support from general on-duty staff, weird abs machines
My partner and I were on a weight loss program. Weight Watchers. This is a very reasonable program by a well-respected outfit. But part two of our quest to lose weight was the exercise part. We needed to join a gym.
We walked in to 24-Hour...

Pros: Conveniently close to home. They have an indoor pool & sauna. Cons: Entire staff unfriendly and pretentious. Hidden fees. Yoga classes packed Instructors horrible.
WHY I WOULD NEVER GO BACK TO 24-HOUR FITNESS: I cancelled my membership at the Research location in Austin, Texas. I neglected to do so about SINCE the first week I signed up because of many disappointments I encountered, but got lazy. They were ...

Pros: Great facility and good range of equipment Cons: Parking costs $1.50, no paper towels. Sales people are underhanded.
My brother is a member of the Irvine 24hr and an acquaintance and friend gave that particular gym high marks. I decided to check it out and the first thing that I ran into was that I needed to park in the garage just to access the facility. Yes you can ...

Pros: Location availability Cons: Corporate corruption
They have numerous locations in most heavily populated areas of California except for the San Gabriel Valley. However, these are likely the most crowded health club. This is a good place to work out if you know how to work out properly and avoid...

Pros: 24 hour availability Cons: too crowded, too much waiting around
When I moved a few years ago my friend and I decided that we wanted to join a Health Club together. We called around looking for something that was in our price range.
We called 24 hour fitness because they had a lot of locations and a...

Pros: Great club, excellent group exercise classes Cons: If you need a copy of billing you are out of luck.
My husband and I have been members since 1998 and really have enjoyed our club (A 24hour fitness sport located in Katy, TX). We go at least 3 times a week usually more than that. I love the classes and have even got my husband to go with me to some of ...

Pros: Excellent equipment (downtown Seattle club). Clean environment. Cons: Customer service very unsatisfactory
First the positive site about 24hourfitness. I really like the equipment they carry in this downtown Seattle club. Lots of cardio machines, and I have never waited for my turn to use it (but perhaps it's because of the time I go). Lots of clean weight...

Pros: Cheap membership. Plenty of well-maintained machines. Cons: The locker rooms are filthier than an aging porn star.
It's plain and simple: you've got to have thick skin to work out at 24 Hour Fitness. Actually, if you're a focused exerciser, and can tune out moderate to heavy leering, it's an adequate place to work out, since there's no shortage of machinery. What...

Pros: Good facilities, hours, services Cons: Customer Service is TERRIBLE!
"Hi, I was wondering if you had a basketball court in your facility," I said.
"We sure do! Would you like to come in and take a tour?" replied the 24-Hour Fitness rep.
"Maybe ..."
"Great! How...

Pros: 24 hour access (not always!), cheaper than other gyms. Cons: shabby locker room, rickety old equipment, pushy and dishonest sales guys, long waits
Review is about the 24 hour fitness club at Fremont Ave in Sunnyvale, North CA. (this is smack in the middle of Silicon Valley, hence you would be surprised by my description as one would expect more up-to-date facilities here)
First experience:...

Pros: colorful and lots to do Cons: dirty hot tub, oversell memberships so too crowded, not enough parking
I used to be a member and found the club to be very disappointing. The hot tub was not clean. They oversold their memberships and the gym was way too crowded. There was a wait for everything especially at 6:30 pm and the parking lot was too small so I...

Pros: The rock climbing is probably the only pro I can think of. Cons: --Crowded, Showers poorly maintained, poor security, horrific parking, apathetic management, lockers are always damaged.
It depends on what you are looking for in a gym. I have been with 24 Hrs Super in Pasadena, CA for approximately 1 year. I am terminating my membership for several reasons. Until recently, my main concerns were that the showers were poorly maintained, ...

Pros: Close to home Cons: Calls never returned, difficult to schedule, steal your money!
I had been buying personal training sessions for over a year in blocks of 20 sessions and was pleased with my trainer. However, when the trainer left 24-Hour Fitness, the manager said he had not submitted his payment form for me (check was cashed...

Pros: Location. Cons: Smell, cleanliness, bad staff, no concern for complaints.
For those of you that live outside of Sacramento, you probably relate Folsom to Folsom prison. However, it is a very nice suburban city. You would expect a decent 24 hour fitness club. I started working out at the Folsom club in 1997. It was a little...

Pros: I didn't get that far. Cons: Pushy sales techniques
After walking in to a new 24 hour fitness I was asked if I needed some help. Yes, I said I am interested in looking at the facilities and getting prices for possible membership. The man gave me a clip board with an 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper on it and...
