Pros: none Cons: Pushy sales people who use every trick in the book.
I first heard about Ballys when I moved to Tucson, Arizona in June of 99. I went into a subway sandwich shop and found a "sweepstakes" that caught my eye. The grand prize was a free one year membership to Bally's. i had seen the commercials and...

Pros: Close by Cons: too much traffic
Some years back, I went to Bailey's Health spa near my house because of a special they were running on TV. It was very cheap. Maybe it was my fault or the girl trying to sell me a club membership, but somewhere along the way, there was a...

Pros: A variety of equipment Cons: Won't let you out of contract no matter what your financial problems may be.
I was contracted with Ballys and had no problems with the club itself. However my financial situation changed radically when my wife had a baby and I lost a job. I contacted Ballys and told them my situation and asked to be released from my contract....

Pros: You can pay as you go option. Cons: Constantly being hassled by salesman.
Once you sign that contract Bally's Total fitness does not care if you are a satisfied customer or not. I paid for my membership up front. Big mistake. I should have paid as I go. The gym has since deteriorated since I started going three months ago. ...

Pros: Offer Good Deals Cons: Too good to be true!
I was a member at Bally's a while back. I have since left and joined another club. I originally joined on a promotion where I had a low start up fee and could only work out certain days of the week. seemed fair enough to get a good deal. The club I...

Pros: clean Cons: this location no pool,,,to long of contract
This gym is nice and clean. The employee seem to be nice. I've have a few problem with it though. For one it doesn't have a pool. They have another location one way out my reach. But who wants to 10 miles to go to the gym. Not me! when I joined this...

Pros: nice facilities and equipment Cons: high priced
I was trapped in with my membership at Bally's. There were more monthly fees and membership dues than I was originally promised, and there is a minimum of a 3-year membership. All in all, I considered my membership a big waste of money. Yes, I did get...

Pros: Are kept up, kept clean, always changing to improve, good support staff. Cons: Somewhat expensive.
Bally Total Fitness Club is one of the more nicer clubs. They have a great support staff on hand at all times, are constantly updating equipment with new state of the art machines. They have aerobic programs, jacuzies, saunas, steam rooms, swimming...

Pros: hhmm...donno Cons: expensive, pushy, sketchy
I joined Bally's in the beginning of the summer for the same reason most other people did, to get in shape. Well, I didnt do that. First of all, the manager, whom I could not really understand, somewhat pressured me into signing a 3 year contract, (did...

Pros: good equipment, great aerobics classes, open early/close late Cons: pushy sales people
I've been a member at Bally's for the past seven years and have watched them grow. They are always bringing out new equipment to stay up to date with the workout world. Not only have they added new equipment, but more of the old ones. I no longer have...

Pros: was near my home Cons: Having to wait and be on a list for certain machines
I had signed up for ballys gold premier card. I think the only kind of benifits I got were the coupons off travel and lodging and it helped improve my credit rating.
The first time I went to the gym I had then learned that going from 11 am to...

Pros: good cardio equipment selection and variety of classes; decent weight-training equipment; lots of locations Cons: pushy sales staff; confusing membership terms; gym not always clean
I've been a member of Bally's for four years, and I have seen their good, bad and ugly sides.
The good -- I like the variety of classes they offer -- my club offers yoga, regular aerobics, step aerobics, pilates, and a variety of strength...

Pros: Few and waning Cons: Deceptive contracts with escalating annual renewal fees, aging facilities
Buyer beware! For many, Bally Total Fitness was once an affordable alternative in the world of fitness and health clubs, but over the past ten years, Bally facilities have steadily declined while their once low annual renewal rates have increased, at a...

Pros: good equipment Cons: poor staff
I have belonged to Bally's going on two years. It seemes more like a meat market for guys than a place to work out. i would not reccommend this facility to anyone who is actually serious about working out. i think that it is just a place where singles...

Pros: NONE Cons: TOO MANY TO LIST
I am writing in an effort to forewarn anyone who is considering joining the Bally's gym chain. My experience with them has been totally horrible. I found that once I signed on the dotted line the customer service virtually disappeared and the...
