Pros: Who wouldn't want steak and eggs for breakfast every day? Cons: This program poisons the body.
People, please.
"Ketosis" is the goal of the Atkin's Diet. It is their holy grail, if you will. The Sanctuary for the pitiable hunchback. The following passage is taken straight from www.atkinsdiet.com:
"Ketosis is...

Pros: Fast results, easy to maintain, great for meat lovers! Cons: Food choices becomes monotonous, can be difficult at 1st, bad breath (due to ketones)
I started this diet May 2000 and I'm still on it to this day (April 2001). I've lost a total of 70 pounds, 60 pounds the first 5 months and then I just eased up on my weight loss. My goal is to lose 30 more pounds. I'm basically the type of person whose...

Pros: None Cons: Pain, little weight loss, expensive
Since I posted about this diet I went to my doctor about my pain. He said I had a bladder infection so I took the medicine he prescribed for me and drank lots of cranberry juice and water. Pain went away, and I found out I had lost 8 lbs. I was feeling...

Pros: if used for the right conditions, will work for you Cons: unhealthy for those who aren't carbohydrate sensitive
I bought the book, read it, tried the diet, hated it, quit. I didn't lose any weight, was unhappy with the foods I was putting into my mouth and worst of all putting my health at risk.
I bought the book and decided to try because like many...

Pros: Promises, promises Cons: NO FRUIT??!!
And that is exactly what I thought was going to happen when I tried the Atkins diet. I heard so many great things about it, I just couldn't wait to try it and watch those pounds just melt away before my very eyes.
What I didn't know was how...

Pros: Eat as much protein as you want, never go hungry! Cons: It sometimes is hard to come up with different ways to cook the same foods
If you're reading this article, chances are you have been on at least one diet in the past. Perhaps, like so many of us, you have been on many diets in the past. Maybe you've tried the low-fat diet, the Shake-a-Day diet, the High-Protein diet, the...

Pros: see list in text Cons: nothing really "con" about losing almost 100 pounds and feeling great the whole time!
I'm happy to share what I know and have experienced with you. This article will be fairly long, but don't let that deter you....I've logged a great deal of info over the last several months, in part because I've been so astonished at how surprisingly...

Pros: Very easy, fast, and permanent if followed correctly. Cons: Requires some discipline, tough if you don't like meat.
I am one of those people who have been heavy ever since I was young. I was extremely active in my teens and early twenties (a competitive swimmer, in fact) and yet I always had love handles and a bit of a gut. I suppose at my lightest I was 40lbs...

Pros: Good basic concept Cons: Hard to adhere to, no energy, lots of grease, expensive
I decided to try this diet after reading Dr. Atkins' book, The New Diet Revolution. After just a few chapters I fell in love with the idea of this diet. You can eat butter, bacon, and all kinds of meat. I'm not a big veggie eater, so I was happy to...

Pros: Can eat out and have a variety of foods Cons: You cheat, and you will add weight
I started on this diet because it was recommended to my husband by his doctor. My husband has had a weight problem for years, and I had been doing the yo-yo thing. We have both been on this diet since Feb. 2000. He has lost a total of 85 pounds, and I...

Pros: More energy and generally feel better, less hunger, no more guilt after eating, all the darn weight I've lost! Cons: Frequent trips to the bathroom after drinking copious amounts of water! :) and the grocery bill goes up slightly because of the cost of good quality meat.
Most, if not all, of the negative opinions on this diet had to have come from people who have either:
1. Not bought the book. Just assumed you ate meat, eggs, and cheese.
2. Not even TRIED the diet.
3. They gave up after a couple...

Pros: You don't have to be hungry or count calories Cons: Eliminates fruit and grains while adding high cholesterol, artery clogging meats and fats
I am a little embarrassed to admit that I tried this diet. I mean, how can any diet that does not allow you to eat foods made by God be good for you? Here's the deal, it isn't.
My mother went on this diet and I was amazed that she had lost 20...

Pros: There are alot of pros to this diet. 1. You get to eat all the food you want as long as it is either carb free or low carb. 2. You lose weight quickly and feel more energetic. 3. There is no hunger in between meals. 4. You body function properly (i.e bowel Cons: The only con I can think of to this diet is that it takes away the breads and sugars. But in the long run even that is better for you.
I started the Atkins diet about 2 weeks ago. Within in this 2 weeks, I have lost 15 pounds. I love this diet. I feel more energetic, I am losing weight and still eating until I am full without feeling the in between hunger pains that I have felt on a lot...

Pros: weight loss, increased speed, power and stamina Cons: first 2 week hell period of sugar depravation
THe atkins diet I must admit is the only diet that I have used that works and has kept the weight off. And at the same time now that I have lost over 42 pounds with the diet I have been able to weight train faster. As is usual with losing weight I have...

Pros: Great for hearty appetites Cons: Can get expensive
I felt like I had stumbled on the City of Lost Gold when I found this diet. I am not extremely overweight (30 - 40 lbs @ 6'1" and 230lbs) but like most of us as I lay claim to a fair amount of territory in my thirties, I am finding that pizza six...
