Hello to all! Go ahead, dare to challenge yourself and be amazed of the outcome! I have dieted for many years and had always heard about the Cabbage Soup Diet, yet, I was always afraid to try it because it sounded so bland and strict. One day, I committed to give it a try and face the challenge, I said to myself, " If others have tried this diet, with much success, why can't I give it a try and experience it for myself. Indeed, I started the diet and it was excellent, I loved it. First two days are the toughest, but then it was fun. The soup was good, I added garlic and salt to taste. Honestly, I lost a good 10 pounds in the 7 days, and felt renewed and very energetic. Furthermore, it was the starting point for beginning new eating habits(which are healthier) and the weight just keeps dropping! Go Ahead, Give it a try!

Wow, it was awesome. I ended up losing 8 pounds in 6 days. (I couldn't do the seventh day of the cabbage soup diet -- although it wasn't really that hard to keep up with! Just couldn't live without bread). I started eating normally again, and I ended up losing TWO MORE pounds a couple days later. Wonderful! The people who write in negatively about this diet must be eating everything in site afterward!!! You can't do that... eat a sensible diet and you will not gain the weight back. I suggest going on Weight Watchers the day after you complete the week. The Cabbage Soup diet helped me jumpstart my diet so that I could continue to lose more weight.
I've tried the Cabbage Soup "diet" quite a few times, and that right there should tell you that it's NOT a great diet!
It is NOT a lifestyle change, it's just a "quick fix" to lose some weight...and it's water weight, so as soon as you stop this diet it will all come back.
If you need to lose a few pounds quickly (vacation, wedding, etc), AND don't mind putting it back on, then it's ok. BUT if you're looking for long-term weight loss, then this is not the diet for you.

I literally embarrassed myself on this diet. I am not heavy but have been heavy in the past. Every once in a while, I like to just keep myself in check with a 5lb drop in weight, if necessary. This diet will drop your 5lb load, but be ready for misery. You will be starving. You will get gassy. You will be exhausted and I got a screaming headache from lack of food. My stomach was aching the entire 2 days I was able to stay on it. No joke, you will not be able to "hold" the gas until you get to a more private place to "release". You will become a tootin' machine! I would not recommend this very unhealthy, EMBARRASSING diet. I would recommend though, if you do decide to try it, take multivitamins and Beano!!!!

Pros: The foods allowed on this diet are all very healthy and good for you. Cons: Gas/flatulence is the norm on this diet.
This is the best diet ever, ONLY if you like the soup, which I do. Heed the advice of previous reviews though - if you can't bear the thought of eating one more bite of this soup after a few days, then this diet is absolutely not for you.

I love this diet have been using it as a springboard for years. I always use this diet to lose a few pounds quickly. I ate it like a soup the first time but the second time could'nt get past one bowl so now I puree it with some water in a blender drink it in a 32oz glass with a straw and pretend its v8 juice. It works everytime. I never wrote a review before but I hope this helps you.
