Caution to potential Nutrisystem customers! by indierock42 ,Jun 03 '09
Pros: The food is easy to prepare. Cons: There is so much sodium in the food.
Becareful when ordering Nutrisystem!!! I recieved I frozen food order to the amount of $130 that I never ordered. Since the food is frozen Nutrisystem will not allow me to return it. I'm a vegetarian and I'm on the vegetarian plan, the majority of the food I received is meat and I can therefore not eat it. The Nutrisystem representatives said they could do nothing for me so I canceled all my future orders with them. I'd be willing to stick with the food if I didn't think the company was just after my money. What happened to customer service?
Pros: Food choices and portions educated me to do it on my own. Cons: Did I mention that the food is NASTY?
I thought I'd have to go to the emergency room after eating the chicken breast. I dismissed it as a fluke the first time, but after the second time threw away the remaining one.
Cons: the most vile, "un nourishing, un-food" since Tang, Velveeta, Ranch Sauce Chips, and Wonderbread.
I tried nutrisystem for a month, the food is crap, it's overflavoured salted, garbage, and it's filled with additives. You may as well dip some cardboard in Splenda, or Salt, or MSG and tomato sauce, and there you have it. Your food. I felt like a four year old on espresso for the whole month, jittery, headachy anxious.
Everyone's taste is different! by mycherona ,Nov 19 '09
Pros: lose weight fast be able to keep it off after with the portioning skills learned Cons: They now have frozen food, you can't get it ala carte without purchasing a package
I started Nutrisystem Oct. 26, 2009, It is very easy to follow and I feel great! In the short time I have been on this diet I have lost 8 pounds! I do exercise 5 days a week and add in 2 days of cardio just to speed up the process. I saw what people are saying about the food and I personally think it is good, somethings I don't like but I get to choose if I order them again. People have to realize when you are eating diet food, it is not going to be the best food you ever ate otherwise it wouldn't be diet food and you wouldn't lose any weight. When you are ready to lose weight YOU ARE READY no matter what the taste is. The food is definitely not horrible, I say try it out you will feel great and look great!
It's not about the product; it's the service! by lynne1559 ,Sep 02 '09
Pros: Portions are realistic for losing weight Cons: Question anything you're told on the phone OK taste, but I won't miss it
Frozen meals were not delivered on time--extremely inconvienent during the summer. Then two weeks ago when I cancelled the next order, someone at Nutrisystem assured me everything had been handled and I would receive a refund. I've called at least four times, but have not received that refund and UPS left another cooler on my porch this morning.
Maybe they should consider spending some of that advertising money on perfecting their service!
Pros: Great online community through their website. Cons: Bad food at a high price.
Nutrisystem food is absolutely disgusting. I was on the program for 4 days and yes I lost weight, mostly because I dreaded meal times. The dinner meals entrees are mostly gravy which is sticky and tastes like paste. The dehydreated meals are equally unappetizing. The little cans of Cheese Tortellini are mostly a sweet chunk tomato sauce and the tortellini is filled with chalky soy cheese. Snack bars and lunch bars use soy powder, brown rice syrup, and chocolate flavoring so it's like eating a chewy sawdust block dipped in brown wax. When you look at the calorie and carb content of the itty bitty portions, you quickly realize that you can cook real food that is better tasting and more nurtitious. The calories and carbs in any of the bars are about the same as a small Snickers ... I would rather have the Snickers. I was on the Diabetic plan and my blood sugars were higher than they have ever been. The food was so repulsive that I sent it all back and am waiting for a refund. I was never so relieved to be eating salads and chicken broth again!
