Pros: relatively inexpensive, easy to clean, cordless and lightweight Cons: Dull blades, lack of power, not a home cutting system
One of the main reasons why I opted for the 20XL over a competing brand (a Wahl model), is that the Norelco brand (and their line of products) is renowned for excellence. In retrospect, I made one of my worst buying decisions with this piece of junk....
Pros: Low Price, Optionally Cordless, Rechargable, One Adjustable Attachment Cons: Not super-powerul, but gets the job done
A few months ago I purchased this razor on a whim at my local K Mart. Why did I waste $20.00 on this???.. I’m not entirely sure… but I’m glad that I did. This has saved me several trips to the barbershop already this summer. At ten bucks a haircut it...
Pros: 1-piece adjustable height guide. Cons: The guide doesn't get very tall.
Now that I'm away at college, I don't feel like taking a trip to the barber's every month, so I took a trip to Wal-Mart one day to find a clipper set. I settled on the Norelco 20XL. Why? One big feature is that there's only one piece to set the...
Pros: Super cheap, doesn't vibrate your hand like all the others, rechargeable, no attachments to lose. Cons: Won't last for much more than a year of regular use.
I've been shaving my head for about 7 years now. I love not having to do my hair when I wake up, and ...
Pros: Cheap, practical, durable. Cons: Don't recommend to use of the battery only;
I've been using hair clippers for several years, and all of them have been pulling my hair, braking in the first 3-6 month of usage. This is the best hair clipper ever made by a human being, cause it works seamlessly, doesn't need to be oiled, you don't...
Pros: Lasts forever, great cutting power, light weight, easy to clean Cons: Attachment does not have great range
I have been cutting my own hair with clippers for about 5 years now. I have purchased many different hair clippers, and I have had the same problem with them all: They work great for about 3 uses, then the blade get's so dull that it starts to pull my...
This is THE BEST clipper ever by frazzy123 ,Jul 22 '05
Pros: Cheap, light, portable, fluffy, creamy center Cons: Clipper attachment can break easily, doesn't come with free lollypop
I have used this model of clipper for over 5 years now. I got it back in 2000 when it was first out. From the start it was just what i was looking for - a rechargable clipper that was portable yet powerful. This has saved me lots of money and trips to the barber who always does it wrong. now i can ruin my haircut myself
What an awesome clipper hair trimmer! by hwoo32 ,Mar 30 '05
Pros: Cordless, quiet, rechargeable, durable, low maintenance, compact with traveling case, very efficient for home use. Cons: Can't seem to find anyone selling the 20XL anymore since Sears did 5 years ago.
In 1997 I purchased my very 1st Norelco 45XL Clipper Hair Trimmer @Kmart for $34.95 which lasted a solid 2 years before it started to lose its cordless charge more rapidly and required being plugged in. In 2000 I was lucky to find a newer model Norelco 20XL Clipper Hair Trimmer @Sears for just $24.95 to replace the prior model (which still works, by the way). This 20XL is even better design/make than the 45XL because it not only has lasted 6 strong years for me, but it has not shown any signs of wear and tear yet. I keep it clean and fully recharged before/after every haircut or use. I take care of it like a brand new car so that I can maximize its lifespan because I can't seem to find another like it in any of the retail stores. Wish I would have bought an extra one back in 2000 when I still had the chance @Sears. You definitely get your money's worth.
I've had this trimmer for a few years now. It worked ok when new, but the battery will no longer hold a charge so I was forced to use it while it was plugged in. Now it will not work at all while it's plugged in or not. This thing was designed to work for the 2 years its covered by its warranty and not a day longer. If you want a good trimmer that will last 2 years...this is the one...if you want a trimmer that will last longer...look else where.
The head also easily becomes clogged and requires a lot of frequent cleanings during trimming. Some times it needs to be cleaned out after each pass through the hair.
It is very lightweight, but that actually gives it a very cheap feel...probably because it is cheap...very cheap.
