Pros: close shave (if on schedule); long battery life; ergonomic; inexpensive. Cons: irritates the skin off schedule; a pain to clean (not waterproof).
I'd been using the Panasonic ES4001 for about a year without much satisfaction. It was the only foil-head shaver I've ever used and will probably be my last. When I was in high school and college I went through two or three Remington rotary head shavers ...
Pros: Quick and reliable shave, Great customer service. (See update at end of review.) Cons: Difficult to get to, and clean the cutter assembly. (see update, it got worse)
My old shaver fell apart, the cutter popped off and down the sink, It was hardly better than a sharp rock when it was working, so I threw it away. It was a terrible shaver; a sadistic facial nightmare, it was a R

Pros: excellent quality, good, close shave, nice ergonomic design Cons: replacement blades are a bit pricey
In my opinion, shaving my face is a royal pain in the backside. It has always been.
From about the time I started shaving, I’ve been cursed (or blessed, depending on your point of view) with a very thick and heavy beard. I’m the type of guy...
Pros: Price, Battery Life, Ease of Use Cons: Closeness of Cut
Electric shavers are generally touted as better than razors because of their portability and ease of use. But this is not always the case. One example of this would be the Remington R845. It may be easier to use and more portable than a razor, but it...
Pros: Good price, shaves as close as Norelco. Cons: Replacement heads harder to find.
My wife got me one of these for Christmas 2003. It replaced a Norelco Advantage I bought for myself in 1999 which was still working 100%. I rarely use a blade shaver, my entire life I've used electrics of different flavors. I've tried a few different ...
Pros: handy, good battery life Cons: closeness of shave, refilling blades?
Well, this has been a good little razor for a long time, a few years? I don't remember. Anyway, after it started getting dirty, and needed to be cleaned out around the blades, I popped the top off, and voila! Now I can't get it back together again just...
Pros: price, better shave than foil shavers Cons: blades disengage too often
I recently purchased a Remington R845 for use away from home where I have been using Norelcos for the past 35+ years. Because of the price difference I choose the Remington thinking there couldn't be much difference between the two. Although the...
Pros: Nice features, long battery life Cons: Must press hard and go over same spot many times to get a close shave
I recieved the Remington R845 as a gift last Christmas. It was the first electric razor I have used so I really didn't know what to expect. Men seem to be split on whether electric razors are better then the conventinal way of shaving. I decided to...
Pros: Good price. Nice styling. Cons: Doesn't shave neck hair thoroughly. Seems to mildly increase acne.
I have been using this razor for about a month and a half. It shaves my face very well, quickly, and doesn't irritate.
However, on my neck it doesn't get all stubble even after several passes and in several different directions. Also you have to...
Pros: Shaves close, charge lasts all week!! Cons: Refill blades are expensive.
I have bought four razors for my husband and this one has been the best one so far. My grandfather has had one of these for awhile now and loves it too. I got this on sale for 49.99 but was a little shocked to see that the refills blades were 29.99!! My...
Not a close shave/Irritates skin by richard05 ,Jan 17 '04
Pros: Cheap Cons: See review
I tried the Remington because it's offered at substantially lower prices than the Norelco. Unfortunately, the old adage "You get what you pay for." applies here. The shave was not close at all. I had to repeatedly go over the same area to achieve even marginal results. I had to frequently "stretch" my skin to raise the stubble enough for the shaver to get anything. After all this effort my face felt raw and irritated. I found the design to be awkward to hold. The mustache trimer often grabbed hairs.
Pros: An adequate shave if you don't try to get too close. Cons: Nicks your face.
I used this razor for about 6 months. The literature with it said that it would take a while for my face to get use to it. It never did. The heads nicked my face repeatedly, especially around the lips when I was trying to get close. I finally gave up and bought a Norelco, whose design I had used and liked before. Now I get a great shave and no nicks.
