| Nissan enters the full-size SUV field for 2004 with a wagon based on its Titan full-size pickup truck. Armada shares Titans 305-hp 5.6-liter twincam V8 and 5-speed automatic transmission. Its slightly larger than the Ford Expedition, but weighs several hundred pounds less. It seats up to eight and its 2nd- and 3rd-row seats fold flush with the floor. Armada comes in three models: SE, SE Off-Road, and LE. Standard are head-protecting curtain side airbags covering all three seating rows. Front side airbags and leather upholstery are optional on SE, standard on the others. Armada offers rear-wheel drive or 4WD that can be left engaged on dry pavement and includes low-range gearing. The automatic transmission has a tow-haul mode. ABS is standard, as is antiskid/traction control and a tire-pressure monitor. Load-leveling rear suspension is standard on LE, optional on the others.
