Small and lightweight, these headphones work well out of portable gear. Don't expect the great sound that you get from the better Beyers; that isn't included. Compared to the good headphones in this price range and application, the 131 sounds rather muddy and dead. The bass is shallow and the mids are not well defined. Not terrible, but your money would be better spent on the Sennheiser HD497 or Grado SR60 headphones. The DT 131 have supraaural earcups with cloth covering and a self-adjusting headband for moderate all-around comfort. The headband tension is pretty strong, which may become uncomfortable during long listening sessions. The single-sided 10' cable is terminated to a mini, with a 1/4" adapter included. |
