Dailey & Vincent: Jamie Dailey (vocals, guitar); Darrin Vincent (vocals, arch guitar, mandolin, bass guitar); Jeff Parker (vocals, mandolin); Cody Kilby, Bryan Sutton (guitar); Joe Dean (banjo); Andy Leftwich (mandolin); Stuart Duncan (fiddle). Personnel: Cody Kilby, Jeff Parker , Andy Leftwich, Bryan Sutton. Recording information: Adventure Studio, Nashville, TN. Breaking out of the session-guys mold that found them backing up the likes of Doyle Lawson and Ricky Skaggs, among others, bluegrass duo Dailey & Vincent debut here with an album that should please the purists. No punches are pulled on DAILEY & VINCENT, as every bluegrass tradition is expertly nailed: spot-on high harmonies; songs about the mountains, being poor, and loving Jesus; and instrumental chops that put the shredders to shame. This is bee-yoo-ti-ful stuff and should earn some extra points with the alt-country crowd thanks to the presence of an effecting cover of Gillian Welch's "By The Mark." |
