Details: In Europe, the divisions between groove-oriented and highbrow jazz aren't as well-defined as they can be in America. In Finland, producer and DJ Tuomas Kallio organized a fivesome of his country's jazz musicians (including saxophonist Timo Lassy, drummer Teppo M?kynen, and trumpeter Jukka Eskola) to play a fusion of early 1960's-style Blue Note hard bop, bossa nova, soul-jazz, and contemporary dancefloor styles. Simply put, this Quintet cooks righteously over rhythms that'll get the dancers to shake their groove-things out on the floor.
