Creating 1-1/2 quarts of ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet, or frozen drinks at home takes only about 30 minutes with this electric ice-cream maker, and salt and ice are not needed. It has two speeds for creating hard or soft variations of any confection. The machine's freezing canister goes into a refrigerator's freezer for about 12 hours to freeze the liquid between its walls. The canister then goes atop the power base, the unit's paddle goes into the bowl, the transparent top is locked in place, and the machine is turned on. Ingredients go into the canister through an opening in the top as the paddle turns. Chocolate chips, chopped fruit, nuts, and other ingredients can be added toward the end. The canister is nonstick for easy cleanup. The machine measures 8-1/2 inches in diameter and 11-3/4 inches high and has cord storage underneath. |
