What happened to intelligent, gimmick-free hip-hop? Well, J-Live, for one, has been doing it all along. On his fourth full-length LP, J continues to kick that same clever, introspective wordplay that's been his trademark since he released the classic "Braggin' Writes/Longevity" 12-inch in 1996. The cover shows an elliptical film-strip of a face-down, unconscious J-Live, opening his eyes leading to the question: THEN WHAT HAPPENED?
