To take full advantage of the cable tuner, request a CableCARD from your local service provider. The CableCARD actually fits into a rear-panel slot on the TV and replaces your set-top box. It simplifies hookup and day-to-day use, and usually provides a slightly clearer picture. At this point in the digital TV transition, there are still lots of analog signals on regular broadcast and cable TV.
