The 1997 Cavalier is available in six models- (Base) coupe and sedan, RS coupe, LS sedan, LS Convertible, and the Z24 coupe. New for 1997 the RS coupe features a rear spoiler, body colored side moldings, 15 wheels and Rally Sport headrest embroidery. The LS Convertible comes with a power roof and a rear spoiler. The Z24 coupe features a rear spoiler, 16 wheels, body colored side moldings and a 2.4L 150hp engine. Standard on the LS sedan, optional on all other models is a 4 speed automatic overdrive transmission which includes traction control. All engines feature 100,000 mile tune-up intervals. All models feature PassLock, a passive theft deterrent system.
