| The all new 1997 Diamante sedan, the flagship for Mitsubishi, is completely redesigned with a new interior and exterior. The exterior changes add 3.9 inches in length and 7.4 cubic feet to the interior. Also, the design changes reduce the vehicle weight by 300 pounds from the previous year model. The Diamante was not available in 1996 accept as a fleet model. Added for this year is the Diamante ES a downgraded version of the LS, but with late availability. The Diamante is being completely manufactured in Adelaide, Australia this year with a new transmission and 3.5LV6 SOHC 210hp engine. A new CD radio is standard on the LS. The Diamante ES comes available with a Premium Package that includes many of the LSs standard features. |
