More Information
Previously on sale only in Europe, the new S40 is now being introduced in the United States. This front-wheel-drive vehicle boasts a 1.9 L four-cylinder160-hp engine matted together with a four-speed automatic transmission, the same used in Volvos S70. Standard safety features include four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, daytime running lights and rear fog lights. Known for its safety, Volvo equips the S40 with the advanced Side Impact Protection System (SIPS). This system protects with airbags at both the chest and head level in the event of a side impact. The optional Sunroof Package adds a power glass sunroof, simulated wood trim and leather seating surfaces. Other options include CD changer pre-wiring and intergrated child seats.
