| The Cavalier features several new changes for the 2001 model year. They include a new four-speed automatic transmission (standard on LS), traction control, a Sport Appearance Package, exterior color Indigo Blue, and a new six-speaker Premium Audio System. The convertible model has been discontinued, and a Z24 Sedan model has been added to the line-up. Standard equipment on the Cavalier includes air conditioning, a rear defroster, cloth bucket seats, and battery rundown protection.
