More Information
For 2002, Porsche adds the 911 GT2 to its model line-up. The GT2 is set apart form the 911 Turbo with widely flared fenders, a distictive rear spoiler, and larger front air intakes. For added stability at high speeds, aerodynamic refinements have been made for greater downforce, and the suspension has been modified and lowered by 0.78 inches. The 3.6L flat-six twin-turbo engine is fine-tuned to produce 456 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque. Coupled with a six-speed transmission, the GT2 is capable of reaching 60 mph in four seconds and is able to reach a staggering top speed of 195 mph. The GT2 is 220 pounds lighter than the 911 Turbo, and this has been achieved by eliminating the AWD drivetrain and replacing it with rear-wheel drive.
