Details: The HD 490 (Sennheiser also calls them the "HD 490 Live") are pleasant, non-fatiguing headphones that emphasize the bass. They have good highs and mids, with bass that is forward and a bit undefined. They are easily powered by a portable player and easy to listen to due to their warm, laid-back sound. All in all, these lightweight, comfortable headphones offer good sound at a good price, but if you're looking for a more neutral presentation, look to the HD 497.
